Crypt::URandom versions from 0.41 before 0.55 for Perl is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow in the XS function crypt_urandom_getrandom()
Crypt::URandom versions from 0.41 before 0.55 for Perl is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow in the XS function crypt_urandom_getrandom().
The function does not validate that the length parameter is non-negative. If a negative value (e.g. -1) is supplied, the expression length + 1u causes an integer wraparound, resulting in a zero-byte allocation. The subsequent call to getrandom(data, length, GRND_NONBLOCK) passes the original negative value, which is implicitly converted to a large unsigned value (typically SIZE_MAX). This can result in writes beyond the allocated buffer, leading to heap memory corruption and application crash (denial of service).
In common usage, the length argument is typically hardcoded by the caller, which reduces the likelihood of attacker-controlled exploitation. Applications that pass untrusted input to this parameter may be affected.

CWE-122 14/02/2026
HID: i2c-hid: fix potential buffer overflow in i2c_hid_get_report()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: i2c-hid: fix potential buffer overflow in i2c_hid_get_report()
`i2c_hid_xfer` is used to read `recv_len + sizeof(__le16)` bytes of data
into `ihid->rawbuf`.
The former can come from the userspace in the hidraw driver and is only
bounded by HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE(16384) by default (unless we also set
`max_buffer_size` field of `struct hid_ll_driver` which we do not).
The latter has size determined at runtime by the maximum size of
different report types you could receive on any particular device and
can be a much smaller value.
Fix this by truncating `recv_len` to `ihid->bufsize - sizeof(__le16)`.
The impact is low since access to hidraw devices requires root.

CWE-122 13/02/2026
Heap-based Buffer Overflow em Free5gc
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the UPF component of free5GC v4.0.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted PFCP Session Modification Request. The issue occurs in the SDFFilterFields.UnmarshalBinary function (sdf-filter.go) when processing a declared length that exceeds the actual buffer capacity, leading to a runtime panic and UPF crash.

PostgreSQL pg_trgm heap buffer overflow writes pattern onto server memory
Heap buffer overflow in PostgreSQL pg_trgm allows a database user to achieve unknown impacts via a crafted input string. The attacker has limited control over the byte patterns to be written, but we have not ruled out the viability of attacks that lead to privilege escalation. PostgreSQL 18.1 and 18.0 are affected.

CWE-122 10/02/2026
LIBPNG has a heap buffer overflow in png_set_quantize
LIBPNG is a reference library for use in applications that read, create, and manipulate PNG (Portable Network Graphics) raster image files. Prior to 1.6.55, an out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the png_set_quantize() API function. When the function is called with no histogram and the number of colors in the palette is more than twice the maximum supported by the user's display, certain palettes will cause the function to enter into an infinite loop that reads past the end of an internal heap-allocated buffer. The images that trigger this vulnerability are valid per the PNG specification. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.55.

CWE-122 06/02/2026
Heap Overflow in Vim
Vim is an open source, command line text editor. Prior to version 9.1.2132, a heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Vim's tag file resolution logic when processing the 'helpfile' option. The vulnerability is located in the get_tagfname() function in src/tag.c. When processing help file tags, Vim copies the user-controlled 'helpfile' option value into a fixed-size heap buffer of MAXPATHL + 1 bytes (typically 4097 bytes) using an unsafe STRCPY() operation without any bounds checking. This issue has been patched in version 9.1.2132.

Heap-based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in TP-Link Archer AX53
Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in TP-Link Archer AX53 v1.0 (tmpserver modules) allows authenticated adjacent attackers to cause a segmentation fault or potentially execute arbitrary code. The vulnerability arises from improper validation of a packet field whose offset is used to determine the write location in memory.
