CWE-125 06/08/2026
Contiki-NG DNS/mDNS Resolver Out-of-Bounds Read via Unchecked skip_name Traversal Before Transaction-ID Validation
Contiki-NG's DNS/mDNS resolver skip_name() in os/services/resolv/resolv.c walks DNS wire-format name labels with no packet-boundary check, and the caller in newdata() invokes it in a loop iterating nquestions times from the attacker-controlled DNS header before validating the transaction ID. An attacker who sets nquestions higher than the number of complete questions present causes skip_name() to walk past the UDP packet buffer, and the returned pointer is cast to struct dns_answer * for further memory reads. On builds with RESOLV_CONF_SUPPORTS_MDNS enabled, any peer on the local segment can trigger the read unauthenticated via a multicast UDP 5353 packet with no outstanding query required; on standard DNS builds an attacker who can inject a UDP response from port 53 during an outstanding query can trigger the same read. Impact is out-of-bounds read of uip_buf and adjacent memory, disclosing memory contents or crashing the resolver.

Contiki-NG LwM2M TLV Parser Out-of-Bounds Read via Unchecked Buffer Length in lwm2m_tlv_read
Contiki-NG's LwM2M TLV parser lwm2m_tlv_read() in os/services/lwm2m/lwm2m-tlv.c ignores its caller-supplied buffer length argument and reads up to six bytes from the input buffer with no bounds check. The caller in lwm2m-engine.c iterates while there is at least one byte remaining, so a crafted CoAP WRITE to any LwM2M endpoint whose final TLV supplies exactly one byte triggers up to five out-of-bounds reads of heap memory adjacent to the CoAP input buffer, disclosing memory contents (including key material and peer addresses) through the parsed tlv->id, tlv->length, and tlv->value fields. Corrupted tlv_len derived from the out-of-bounds memory further corrupts the caller's parse offset. In LwM2M NoSec mode, the default for constrained devices, no authentication is required.

llama.cpp b5702–b7653 Out-of-Bounds Read Information Disclosure
llama.cpp builds b4882 before b8487 contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the recurrent memory state restore path that allows attackers with write access to the slot save directory to read memory past the end of the allocated cells array. Attackers can craft a malicious slot file with an oversized seq_id value to trigger an out-of-bounds read that leaks heap data including pointer values into server logs, defeating ASLR protections and facilitating further exploitation.

llama.cpp b3978–b9058 Integer Underflow via DRY Sampler
llama.cpp builds b3978 through b9058 contain an integer underflow and out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the DRY sampler that allows unauthenticated attackers to trigger a heap buffer underflow by sending a crafted HTTP request with dry_allowed_length set to INT32_MIN to the /v1/completions or /v1/chat/completions endpoints. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to crash the server with SIGSEGV causing denial of service for all connected users, or corrupt token sampling probabilities by reading garbage values from memory before the allocated buffer.

HDF5 integer underflow in Fletcher32 filter leads to massive out-of-bounds read
H5Z__filter_fletcher32 in H5Zfletcher32.c in HDF5 prior to 2.3.0 computes the data length to checksum by subtracting the 4-byte trailing checksum size from the input buffer size without checking that the buffer is at least 4 bytes, allowing a size_t underflow. This allows attackers to cause a denial of service (massively out-of-bounds read and application crash in H5_checksum_fletcher32) via a crafted HDF5 file with a Fletcher32-filtered chunk smaller than 4 bytes, triggered via H5Dread, e.g. by the h5ls or h5dump tools.

HDF5 out-of-bounds heap read in N-Bit filter decompression
The H5Z__nbit_decompress_one_byte, H5Z__nbit_decompress_one_nooptype, and H5Z__nbit_decompress_one_atomic functions in H5Znbit.c in HDF5
prior to 2.3.0 advance a read index into the compressed chunk buffer without bounding it against the buffer's actual size. This allows attackers to cause an out-of-bounds heap read, and in constrained cases disclosure of adjacent heap memory into decompressed dataset values, via a crafted HDF5 file whose N-Bit filter parameters describe more decompressed data than the stored compressed chunk actually contains, triggered via H5Dread, e.g. by the h5ls or h5repack tools.

Electron: Off-screen rendering trusts GPU-supplied geometry over shared-memory size
Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 39.8.10, 40.9.0, 41.2.1, and 42.0.0-beta.3, offscreen rendering frame data received from the GPU process was not fully validated by the main process. A compromised GPU process could cause the main process to read out-of-bounds memory while producing paint event images, disclosing memory or crashing the app. This issue is fixed in 39.8.10, 40.9.0, 41.2.1, and 42.0.0-beta.3.

nanoMODBUS Client-Side Out-of-Bounds Read Leading to Wild-Pointer Write via object_id
nanoMODBUS through v1.23.0 contains an out-of-bounds stack read leading to a wild-pointer write in nmbs_read_device_identification_basic / recv_read_device_identification_res in nanomodbus.c. A fixed 3-element stack array order[3] = {0,1,2} maps object IDs to buffer indices. The server-supplied object_id field (0-255, read directly from the wire) is used without any bounds check as buf_index = order[object_id].

CWE-125 05/08/2026
btrfs: reject free space cache with more entries than pages
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: reject free space cache with more entries than pages
When loading a v1 free space cache, __load_free_space_cache() takes
num_entries and num_bitmaps straight from the on-disk
btrfs_free_space_header. That header is stored in the tree_root under a key
with type 0, which the tree-checker has no case for, so neither count is
validated before the load trusts it.
The load loops num_entries times and maps the next page whenever the current
one runs out, going through io_ctl_check_crc() -> io_ctl_map_page(), which
does io_ctl->pages[io_ctl->index++]. But pages[] is allocated in
io_ctl_init() from the cache inode's i_size, not from num_entries:
num_pages = DIV_ROUND_UP(i_size_read(inode), PAGE_SIZE);
io_ctl->pages = kcalloc(num_pages, sizeof(struct page *), GFP_NOFS);
So if num_entries claims more records than the pages can hold, io_ctl->index
runs off the end of pages[]. The write side never hits this because
io_ctl_add_entry() and io_ctl_add_bitmap() both stop once
io_ctl->index >= io_ctl->num_pages; the read side just never had the same
check.
To trigger it, take a clean cache (num_entries = <N> here), set num_entries
in the header to 0x10000, and fix up the leaf checksum so it still passes
the tree-checker. The cache inode has i_size = 65536, so num_pages is 16 and
pages[] is a 16-pointer (kmalloc-128) array. The load now tries to read
65536 entries, io_ctl->index walks up to 16, and pages[16] is read past the
array:
BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in io_ctl_check_crc (fs/btrfs/free-space-cache.c:420 fs/btrfs/free-space-cache.c:565)

ret_from_fork
free-space-cache.c:420 is io_ctl_map_page(), inlined into io_ctl_check_crc()
at line 565, which is why that is the frame KASAN names. The out-of-bounds
slot is then treated as a struct page and handed to crc32c(), so the bad
read turns into a GP fault.
Add the missing check to io_ctl_check_crc(), which is where both the entry
loop and the bitmap loop end up. When num_entries is too large the load now
fails like any corrupt cache: __load_free_space_cache() drops it and rebuilds
the free space from the extent tree, so a valid cache is never rejected.

OpenSIPS: OOB Read in Multipart Body Boundary Parsing
OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. In versions prior to 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1, the find_line_delimiter() function in the multipart body parser performs an out-of-bounds read via strncmp() when searching for MIME boundary delimiters. After finding a -- pattern near the end of the body, the function compares delimiter.len bytes (typically 20-70) starting from a position at or past the logical end of the body buffer, reading past the body boundary. The bug triggers when a SIP message has Content-Type: multipart/mixed with a boundary parameter and its body contains -- within two to three bytes of the body's end without being followed by the actual boundary delimiter. This issue has been fixed in versions 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1.

Stunnel: stack-based out-of-bounds read/write in stunnel s_vlog via oversized log message
A stack-based out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the "s_vlog" function of stunnel, when handling oversized log messages via "vsnprintf". A remote attacker with network access to a stunnel service can send protocol inputs that trigger a log message longer than 1024 bytes, leading to an out-of-bounds stack read and a potential crash. In certain corner cases, the same vulnerability could be used to replace a series of trailing "\n" characters with "\0".

AIOHTTP: Out-of-bounds heap read in C HTTP response parser error path (malformed chunked response)
AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. Prior to 3.14.3, an out-of-bounds heap read could occur in the C response parser while building an error message for a malformed response. An attacker controlled server, or possibly an accidental response, could trigger a DoS in the client. The vulnerable path was error message construction in aiohttp/_http_parser.pyx, where an llhttp error-position pointer was used to build a snippet for malformed chunked responses and malformed request or response bytes at the buffer end. This issue is fixed in version 3.14.3.

CWE-125 02/08/2026
Out-of-bounds read in Zephyr OCPP 1.6 RPC message parser (parse_rpc_msg)
The OCPP 1.6 client in subsys/net/lib/ocpp parsed inbound WAMP RPC frames in parse_rpc_msg() (subsys/net/lib/ocpp/ocpp_j.c) using a hand-rolled helper, extract_string_field(), that copied the message's uid and action fields with strncpy(out_buf, token + 1, outlen - 1) and then scanned the result with strchr(out_buf, '"'). Because strncpy does not NUL-terminate the destination when the source is at least outlen - 1 (127) bytes long, the subsequent strchr reads past the 128-byte destination buffer into adjacent stack memory; if a " byte is found beyond the buffer, a one-byte out-of-bounds NUL write also occurs. A related defect in extract_payload() runs strchr/strrchr over the receive buffer, which may not be NUL-terminated when a maximal-length frame fills it.
The parsed bytes come directly from the OCPP central-system server over a websocket: the reader thread fills recv_buf via websocket_recv_msg() and calls parse_rpc_msg() on each inbound DATA frame (subsys/net/lib/ocpp/ocpp.c). A malicious or compromised central server, or an on-path attacker (OCPP is commonly deployed over plain ws://), can send an RPC frame whose uid or action field is 127+ bytes with no closing quote, triggering the out-of-bounds access.
The primary impact is a remotely triggerable denial of service: the unbounded scan can fault on an unmapped page, and the stray NUL write can corrupt adjacent stack state. The over-read data is not reflected to the peer, so disclosure is limited. The feature is EXPERIMENTAL and must be explicitly enabled (CONFIG_OCPP). The fix replaces the manual parser with the bounds-respecting json_mixed_arr_parse() and copies the extracted uid with an explicitly NUL-terminated buffer, eliminating both over-reads.

FreeRDP before 3.29.0 Out-of-Bounds Read via Planar RLE
FreeRDP versions 3.28.0 and earlier contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the RDP6 planar RLE bitmap decoder functions planar_decompress_plane_rle and planar_decompress_plane_rle_only in libfreerdp/codec/planar.c. Only the 1-byte control byte is bounds-checked; the subsequent 0–15 attacker-declared raw bytes are read without validating that the source buffer contains them. A malicious or compromised RDP server can send a truncated planar-encoded bitmap or surface update (reachable via both the Bitmap Update PDU and RDPGFX Surface Command paths) that causes the client to read past the end of the source buffer. The issue is fixed in FreeRDP 3.29.0.
