CVE-2026-21863
Alta · 7.5
CWE-125 23/02/2026
Malformed Valkey Cluster bus message can lead to Remote DoS
Valkey is a distributed key-value database. Prior to versions 9.0.2, 8.1.6, 8.0.7, and 7.2.12, a malicious actor with access to the Valkey clusterbus port can send an invalid packet that may cause an out bound read, which might result in the system crashing. The Valkey clusterbus packet processing code does not validate that a clusterbus ping extension packet is located within buffer of the clusterbus packet before attempting to read it. Versions 9.0.2, 8.1.6, 8.0.7, and 7.2.12 fix the issue. As an additional mitigation, don't expose the cluster bus connection directly to end users, and protect the connection with its own network ACLs.

janet-lang janet handleattr specials.c janetc_varset out-of-bounds
A vulnerability was identified in janet-lang janet up to 1.40.1. Affected by this vulnerability is the function janetc_varset of the file src/core/specials.c of the component handleattr Handler. The manipulation leads to out-of-bounds read. The attack can only be performed from a local environment. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. Upgrading to version 1.41.0 addresses this issue. The identifier of the patch is 2fabc80151a2b8834ee59cda8a70453f848b40e5. The affected component should be upgraded.

wren-lang wren Source File wren_compiler.c peekChar out-of-bounds
A vulnerability was identified in wren-lang wren up to 0.4.0. This affects the function peekChar of the file src/vm/wren_compiler.c of the component Source File Parser. Such manipulation leads to out-of-bounds read. The attack needs to be performed locally. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.

NanaZip has DotNet Single file OOB Heap Read
NanaZip is an open source file archive Starting in version 5.0.1252.0 and prior to version 6.0.1630.0, NanaZip has an out-of-bounds heap read in `.NET Single File` bundle header parser due to missing bounds check. Opening a crafted file with NanaZip causes a crash or leaks heap data to the user. Version 6.0.1630.0 patches the issue.

crypto: iaa - Fix out-of-bounds index in find_empty_iaa_compression_mode
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: iaa - Fix out-of-bounds index in find_empty_iaa_compression_mode
The local variable 'i' is initialized with -EINVAL, but the for loop
immediately overwrites it and -EINVAL is never returned.
If no empty compression mode can be found, the function would return the
out-of-bounds index IAA_COMP_MODES_MAX, which would cause an invalid
array access in add_iaa_compression_mode().
Fix both issues by returning either a valid index or -EINVAL.

dpaa2-switch: add bounds check for if_id in IRQ handler
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dpaa2-switch: add bounds check for if_id in IRQ handler
The IRQ handler extracts if_id from the upper 16 bits of the hardware
status register and uses it to index into ethsw->ports[] without
validation. Since if_id can be any 16-bit value (0-65535) but the ports
array is only allocated with sw_attr.num_ifs elements, this can lead to
an out-of-bounds read potentially.
Add a bounds check before accessing the array, consistent with the
existing validation in dpaa2_switch_rx().

netfs_sreq: R=00001b55[2] ZERO TERM f=102 s=5fb2 4e/4e s=5 e=0
The 'cto=5fb2' indicates the collected file pos we've collected results to
so far - but we still have 0x4e more bytes to go - so we shouldn't have
collected folio ix=00005 yet. The 'ZERO' subreq that clears the tail
happens after we unlock the folio, allowing the application to see the
uncleared tail through mmap.
The problem is that netfs_read_unlock_folios() will unlock a folio in which
the amount of read results collected hits EOF position - but the ZERO
subreq lies beyond that and so happens after.
Fix this by changing the end check to always be the end of the folio and
never the end of the file.
In the future, I should look at clearing to the end of the folio here rather
than adding a ZERO subreq to do this. On the other hand, the ZERO subreq can
run in parallel with an async READ subreq. Further, the ZERO subreq may still
be necessary to, say, handle extents in a ceph file that don't have any
backing store and are thus implicitly all zeros.
This can be reproduced by creating a file, the size of which doesn't align
to a page boundary, e.g. 24998 (0x5fb2) bytes and then doing something
like:
xfs_io -c "mmap -r 0 0x6000" -c "madvise -d 0 0x6000" \
-c "mread -v 0 0x6000" /xfstest.test/x
The last 0x4e bytes should all be 00, but if the tail hasn't been cleared
yet, you may see rubbish there. This can be reproduced with kafs by
modifying the kernel to disable the call to netfs_read_subreq_progress()
and to stop afs_issue_read() from doing the async call for NETFS_READAHEAD.
Reproduction can be made easier by inserting an mdelay(100) in
netfs_issue_read() for the ZERO-subreq case.
AFS and CIFS are normally unlikely to show this as they dispatch READ ops
asynchronously, which allows the ZERO-subreq to finish first. 9P's READ op is
completely synchronous, so the ZERO-subreq will always happen after. It isn't
seen all the time, though, because the collection may be done in a worker
thread.

CWE-125 13/02/2026
BACnet Stack WriteProperty decoding length underflow leads to OOB read and crash
BACnet Stack is a BACnet open source protocol stack C library for embedded systems. Prior to 1.5.0rc4 and 1.4.3rc2, a malformed WriteProperty request can trigger a length underflow in the BACnet stack, leading to an out‑of‑bounds read and a crash (DoS). The issue is in wp.c within wp_decode_service_request. When decoding the optional priority context tag, the code passes apdu_len - apdu_size to bacnet_unsigned_context_decode without validating that apdu_size <= apdu_len. If a truncated APDU reaches this path, apdu_len - apdu_size underflows, resulting in a large size being used for decoding and an out‑of‑bounds read. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.5.0rc4 and 1.4.3rc2.

Out-of-bounds Read em Free5gc
An array index out of bounds vulnerability in the AMF component of free5GC v4.0.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted 5GS Mobile Identity in a NAS Registration Request message. The issue occurs in the GetSUCI method (NAS_MobileIdentity5GS.go) when accessing index 5 of a 5-element array, leading to a runtime panic and AMF crash.

Libsoup: out-of-bounds read in libsoup handle_partial_get() leading to heap information disclosure
A flaw was identified in libsoup, a widely used HTTP library in GNOME-based systems. When processing specially crafted HTTP Range headers, the library may improperly validate requested byte ranges. In certain build configurations, this could allow a remote attacker to access portions of server memory beyond the intended response. Exploitation requires a vulnerable configuration and access to a server using the embedded SoupServer component.
