Pillow: Heap out-of-bounds write in Pillow `ImageFilter.RankFilter` via integer overflow in `ImagingExpand`
Pillow is a Python imaging library. Prior to 12.3.0, Pillow's public rank-filter API can trigger a native heap out-of-bounds write when given a very large odd filter size because ImageFilter.RankFilter.filter() calls image.expand(size // 2, size // 2) before rank-filter size validation and ImagingExpand() computes output dimensions with unchecked signed int arithmetic. This issue is fixed in version 12.3.0.

CWE-190 14/07/2026
Xtensa MPU `arch_buffer_validate()` integer-overflow lets a user thread bypass syscall pointer validation
On Xtensa SoCs built with CONFIG_XTENSA_MPU and CONFIG_USERSPACE, arch_buffer_validate() in arch/xtensa/core/mpu.c — the architecture hook that verifies a user-mode-supplied buffer is accessible to the calling user thread with the requested permission — defaulted its return value to 0 (access permitted) and only set a denial result inside its per-MPU-region probe loop. When the rounded extent of the buffer wraps the 32-bit address space (size + alignment offset near SIZE_MAX, or ROUND_UP(size + offset) overflowing to 0), the loop executes zero iterations and the function returns 0 = permitted without probing any MPU region.
The syscall-layer pre-checks (K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_SIZE_CHECK / Z_DETECT_POINTER_OVERFLOW) only catch a raw addr+size wrap and do not cover the ROUND_UP-induced wrap, and the string path (arch_user_string_nlen -> arch_buffer_validate) has no syscall-layer guard at all.
An unprivileged user-mode thread can therefore pass a crafted (addr, size) to any syscall that validates user buffers via k_usermode_from_copy/to_copy or k_usermode_string_copy and have validation succeed for memory it must not access; the kernel then reads from (disclosure) or, with write=1, writes to (corruption) attacker-chosen kernel or other-partition memory on the thread's behalf, enabling information disclosure, memory corruption, privilege escalation, and denial of service.
Affected from v3.7.0 (when Xtensa MPU userspace support was added) through v4.4.0. The fix changes the default to -EINVAL (deny by default), adds an explicit size_add_overflow check, and sets the success value only after the full range has been validated.

CWE-190 13/07/2026
Integer Overflow or Wraparound em Opener Project Opener
In OpENer 2.3.0 (commit 76b95cf) when parsing incoming CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) network packets, the length parameter is inconsistently typed across the call stack. Specifically, an upstream length calculated as an int is passed to a downstream function that expects an EipInt16 (a 16-bit signed integer). If a maliciously crafted packet with specific length fields is processed, the length parameter can overflow or be truncated into a negative value. This negative length bypasses subsequent bounds checking (due to signed/unsigned comparison issues) and is ultimately used in memory operations, leading to a Stack Buffer Overflow when reading data in DecodePaddedEPath.

Storable versions before 3.41 for Perl have a signed integer overflow when deserializing a crafted SX_HOOK record
Storable versions before 3.41 for Perl have a signed integer overflow when deserializing a crafted SX_HOOK record.
retrieve_hook_common reads a signed 32-bit item count from an SX_HOOK record and calls av_extend with that count plus one. A count of I32_MAX wraps the addition to a negative value.
A crafted blob passed to thaw or retrieve triggers the overflow; av_extend receives the negative count and dies with a panic, terminating the deserialization.

Perl versions before 5.40.5-RC1, from 5.41.0 before 5.42.3-RC1, from 5.43.0 before 5.43.10 produce silently incorrect regular expression matches when an alternation of more than 65535 fixed string branches is compiled into a trie in Perl_study_chunk
Perl versions before 5.40.5-RC1, from 5.41.0 before 5.42.3-RC1, from 5.43.0 before 5.43.10 produce silently incorrect regular expression matches when an alternation of more than 65535 fixed string branches is compiled into a trie in Perl_study_chunk.
When such branches are combined into a trie, the delta between the first branch and the shared tail is stored in a 16-bit field. A branch count above 65535 overflows the field, and the trie's match decision table is truncated with no warning or error.
A pattern of this shape produces false positive matches (matching strings it should not) and false negative matches (failing to match strings it should). When such a pattern gates an access or filtering decision, the result is wrong.

NATS Server: Remote crash via integer overflow in Connz pagination
NATS Server is a high-performance server for NATS.io, the cloud and edge native messaging system. Prior to 2.14.3 and 2.12.12, a client able to send account-scoped connection monitoring requests could crash the server by supplying Connz pagination Offset and Limit values that overflowed internal arithmetic before the response window was safely bounded. This issue is fixed in versions 2.14.3 and 2.12.12.

Immutable.js `List` 32-bit trie overflow → unrecoverable DoS
Immutable.js provides many Persistent Immutable data structures. Prior to 4.3.9 and 5.1.8, List#set, List#setSize, List#setIn, List#updateIn, and the functional set, setIn, and updateIn mishandle an index or size in the range 2 ** 30 to 2 ** 31 in setListBounds in src/List.js, causing an empty List to enter an uncatchable infinite loop, a populated List to allocate without bound until process abort, or setSize to silently wrap large values. This issue is fixed in versions 4.3.9 and 5.1.8.

GNU Wget 1.25.0 Heap Buffer Overflow via HTML Attribute Encoding
GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit dd692d9, contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the html_quote_string() function in src/convert.c that allows a remote attacker to trigger memory corruption by supplying a crafted HTML attribute with a large number of characters requiring entity encoding. A server-supplied HTML attribute causes a signed integer counter to overflow during output size accumulation, resulting in an undersized heap allocation and subsequent heap buffer overflow during the copy phase.

GNU Wget 1.25.0 Integer Overflow via Content-Range Header Parsing
GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit 43d3ba9, contains an integer overflow vulnerability in the parse_content_range() function within src/http.c that allows server-controlled values to cause signed integer arithmetic to overflow. Attackers can supply malicious Content-Range header values to trigger undefined behavior and download desynchronization in the affected client.

Gimp: gimp: integer overflow in read_rle_channel()
A flaw was found in GIMP's PSD parser. An integer overflow in read_RLE_channel() can cause an undersized heap allocation for the RLE row-length table, after which subsequent per-row writes corrupt heap memory. This could lead to memory corruption, potentially resulting in denial of service or arbitrary code execution.

CWE-190 06/07/2026
Gimp: gimp: denial of service via integer overflow in playstation tim loader
A flaw was found in GIMP. The PlayStation TIM loader, responsible for handling PlayStation image files, incorrectly calculates the size of the Color Look-Up Table (CLUT) due to an integer overflow. This occurs when multiplying num_colors and num_cluts, both 16-bit unsigned short integers, resulting in a value exceeding the maximum integer limit. An attacker could exploit this by providing a specially crafted image file, leading to undefined behavior and causing the GIMP plug-in to abort, effectively resulting in a denial of service.
