Cisco Secure Email Gateway Relative Path Traversal Vulnerability
A vulnerability in the Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) feature of Cisco Secure Email Gateway could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to write arbitrary files on the underlying operating system.
This vulnerability is due to improper handling of email attachments when the file reputation service is enabled. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending an email that contains a crafted attachment through an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to write arbitrary files and execute commands with root privileges on the underlying operating system.

Cloud Commander 19.20.2 through 19.21.1 Path Traversal via GET /api/v1/pack
Cloud Commander (cloudcmd) versions 19.20.2 through 19.21.1 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the GET /api/v1/pack endpoint where the onGET handler at server/rest/index.js:130 calls the unguarded root() function instead of the root.resolve() validation wrapper used elsewhere. Attackers can send percent-encoded directory traversal sequences in the pack request path to read arbitrary files outside the configured --root directory, such as /etc/passwd or SSH private keys, which are archived and streamed back as a downloadable tar.gz file.

CWE-23 08/10/2026
Path Traversal leading to Remote Code Execution in Ollama
Ollama is vulnerable to path traversal in the `/api/pull` endpoint due to insufficient validation of layer digests by the `digestToPath` function. An unauthenticated remote attacker can specify a path traversal sequence as a layer digest, causing a malicious binary to be written outside the model store.
Critically if the server process has write access to `/usr/lib/ollama` (the default in most Ollama Docker images), an attacker can write the malicious file to that directory. On the next server restart, the file is loaded and executed, resulting in remote code execution as root.
This issue was fixed in version 0.35.0.

Apache Impala: Path traversal executes JARs outside trusted paths
Path traversal of 'trusted_jar_paths' in Impala 4.5.2 allows an attacker-controlled JAR to be loaded via a relative path where the prefix matches a path specified in 'trusted_jar_paths'.
The startup flag 'trusted_jar_paths' references URIs for loading files from local or remote filesystems. Path traversal can't override the schema, but can result in loading a JAR that has been uploaded to a different location in that filesystem via Impala DDLs such as CREATE DATA SOURCE and CREATE TABLE. Path traversal can only be used if a trusted path exists, so this attack requires 'trusted_jar_paths' have a non-empty value configured by the Impala admin.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.5.3, which fixes this issue.

Path traversal in Fleet Helm valuesFiles allows disclosure of files outside the bundle directory
A user who can supply bundle content to a repository referenced by a GitRepo resource, for example through Git push access, or through permission to create or modify a GitRepo, can cause SUSE Rancher Fleet to read files from the filesystem of the environment that processes the bundle and include their contents in the generated Bundle resource. This can expose configuration or credential material that the user has no Kubernetes RBAC permission to read, including Helm registry credentials made available to the bundle-processing job when per-path Helm credentials are configured.
This affects Fleet 0.16 before 0.16.2, 0.15 before 0.15.7, 0.14 before 0.14.11, 0.13 before 0.13.16, 0.12 before 0.12.20 and potentially older unsupported versions.

Apache Camel: Camel-Azure-Storage-Blob: the downloadBlobToFile operation built the local download target from the remote blob name without constraining it to the configured fileDir
Relative path traversal vulnerability in Apache Camel Azure Storage Blob component.
This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.14.9, from 4.15.0 before 4.18.4, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.0.
The camel-azure-storage-blob component can download an Azure Storage blob to the local filesystem through its downloadBlobToFile operation, writing into the directory named by the fileDir endpoint option, which is documented as usable from both the producer and the consumer. BlobOperations.downloadBlobToFile built the local target by joining fileDir with the remote blob name exactly as the Azure SDK reported it (new File(fileDir, client.getBlobName())) and passed the result straight to the SDK download call, with no lexical normalization and no check that the resolved location stayed inside fileDir. The blob name is not route-controlled data: the consumer enumerates the container in BlobConsumer.createBatchExchangesFromContainer, which lists blobs and creates one exchange per entry from BlobItem.getName() verbatim, applying no name filtering by default. A blob name containing parent-directory segments therefore resolved to a location outside the configured fileDir, letting anyone able to influence the names present in the consumed container cause Camel to create or overwrite a file at a location of their choosing, with the privileges of the Camel process. Depending on what the process can write to, overwriting a file outside the download directory can escalate beyond the loss of integrity of that file. Azure Storage blob containers use a flat namespace in which the blob name is an opaque key, so a name carrying such segments is stored and listed as given. The fileDir option is an ordinary common-group configuration parameter and carries no security marker, so nothing signalled to users that its value was not being enforced as a containment boundary. Camel's other file-download consumers - camel-file, camel-ftp, camel-smb, camel-mina-sftp and camel-azure-files - already constrained their local downloads to the configured directory using a path-segment boundary check; the camel-azure-storage-blob download path was not covered by that work.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.22.0, which fixes the issue. If users are on the 4.14.x LTS releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.14.9. If users are on the 4.18.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.18.4. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, constrain the names the consumer will act on using the regex endpoint option, which is applied to each listed blob name as a full-string match, so that only simple single-segment names are accepted and any name carrying a path separator or a parent-directory segment is filtered out before an exchange is created; the prefix option can additionally narrow the listing server-side, noting that when both are set regex takes priority and prefix is ignored. Alternatively, avoid the downloadBlobToFile operation on untrusted containers and write the payload from the route under a file name the route itself controls, rather than one taken from the remote listing. As defence in depth, treat the blob names in any externally writable container as untrusted input and do not derive local filesystem paths from them.

Apache Camel: Camel-Azure-Storage-DataLake: the downloadToFile operation built the local download target from the remote path name without constraining it to the configured fileDir
Relative path traversal vulnerability in Apache Camel Azure-Storage Datalake component
This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.14.9, from 4.15.0 before 4.18.4, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.0.
The camel-azure-storage-datalake component can download an Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 file to the local filesystem through its downloadToFile operation, writing into the directory named by the fileDir endpoint option. DataLakeFileOperations.downloadToFile built the local target by joining fileDir with the remote path name exactly as the Azure SDK reported it (new File(fileDir, fileClientWrapper.getFileName())) and passed the result straight to the SDK download call, with no lexical normalization and no check that the resolved location stayed inside fileDir. The remote name is not route-controlled data: the consumer enumerates the filesystem in DataLakeConsumer.createBatchExchangesFromPath, which lists paths and creates one exchange per entry from PathItem.getName() verbatim, applying no name filtering by default. A path name containing parent-directory segments therefore resolved to a location outside the configured fileDir, letting anyone able to influence the names present in the consumed Data Lake filesystem cause Camel to create or overwrite a file at a location of their choosing, with the privileges of the Camel process. Depending on what the process can write to, overwriting a file outside the download directory can escalate beyond the loss of integrity of that file. The fileDir option is an ordinary common-group configuration parameter and carries no security marker, so nothing signalled to users that its value was not being enforced as a containment boundary. Camel's other file-download consumers - camel-file, camel-ftp, camel-smb, camel-mina-sftp and camel-azure-files - already constrained their local downloads to the configured directory using a path-segment boundary check; the camel-azure-storage-datalake download path was not covered by that work.

FileWiki has path traversal in RenameAsset via unsanitized oldFilename parameter
LeafWiki is a self-hosted wiki. Versions 0.3.0 through 0.10.0 have a path traversal vulnerability in LeafWiki’s asset rename functionality. An authenticated user with editor permissions could move files that are accessible to the LeafWiki server process into a page’s asset directory. This could allow sensitive local files, such as the application database, to become downloadable as page assets. Users should update to version 0.10.1 or greater. As an additional mitigation, operators should ensure that the LeafWiki process runs with the least privileges necessary and does not have filesystem access to sensitive files outside the application’s required directories. Until a patch is applied, operators may reduce risk by restricting editor access to trusted users only and by limiting the filesystem permissions of the LeafWiki process.

Sssd: sssd: gpo cache path traversal via unsanitized gpcfilesyspath allows kerberos authentication bypass
A path traversal flaw was found in SSSD's AD GPO provider. The ad_gpo_extract_smb_components() function does not sanitize .. sequences in the gPCFileSysPath LDAP attribute, allowing an attacker with AD GPO management access to write files outside the GPO cache directory as root. On default RHEL configurations with SELinux enforcing, this can be used to inject Kerberos configuration leading to authentication bypass.
