CVE-2026-61611
Alta · 7.5
CWE-307 15/10/2026
Lychee: Missing rate limiting on album password unlock endpoint allows brute-force attacks
Lychee is a free, open-source photo-management tool. Prior to 7.6.1, POST /api/v2/Album::unlock has no throttle, attempt counter, backoff, CAPTCHA, or lockout. UnlockAlbumRequest::authorize() permits any caller to submit attempts, and app/Actions/Album/Unlock.php verifies each guess with Hash::check without limiting repeated failures. A remote unauthenticated attacker who knows or can obtain an album identifier can automate password guesses against a password-protected album and, if the password is recovered, gain access to its private photo collection. This issue is fixed in version 7.6.1.

CWE-307 14/10/2026
FileRise: Rate Limiting Bypass via Username Rotation Enables Unlimited Password Spraying
FileRise is a self-hosted web-based file manager with multi-file upload, editing, and batch operations. Prior to 3.21.0, FileRise tracks failed logins only by the combination of source IP address and username. A remote unauthenticated attacker can rotate usernames to obtain a fresh per-account attempt budget for each name, enabling password spraying from one source beyond the intended limit. Per-user limits still apply and can also produce distinguishable throttling behavior for targeted accounts. The affected surface is AuthModel::getFailedLoginKey(). This issue is fixed in version 3.21.0.

CWE-307 14/10/2026
FileRise: Session-scoped TOTP rate limiting permits repeated verification attempts
FileRise is a self-hosted web-based file manager with multi-file upload, editing, and batch operations. Prior to 3.23.0, FileRise stores failed TOTP verification attempts in $_SESSION. An attacker who already possesses a target account's valid primary credential can restart the login workflow in a new session and restore the second-factor attempt allowance, permitting continued online TOTP guessing beyond the intended five-attempt limit. The pending-login TOTP handlers did not share a durable account-wide limit. This issue is fixed in version 3.23.0.

Netherman Portal del Hermano Account Takeover via Password Reset Oracle
Netherman Portal del Hermano (portaldelhermano.es) before 2026-10-06 contains a broken authentication vulnerability in its password-recovery flow at the POST /password/create-access and POST /password/email endpoints, allowing unauthenticated attackers to take over any member account across all tenants by exploiting the lack of rate limiting and distinct error messages that act as oracles for each of the four identity-verification factors (DNI, date of birth, phone number, last four IBAN digits). Attackers can confirm the DNI via the oracle, brute-force the date of birth and IBAN digits, obtain the phone number through open-source intelligence, then submit an attacker-controlled email field so the password reset link is delivered to them, enabling full account takeover including profile data, full IBAN, and fiscal documents.

CWE-307 24/08/2026
RansomLook Login Endpoint Allows Timing-Based Username Enumeration and Unthrottled Authentication Attempts
RansomLook contains multiple weaknesses in its authentication endpoint that allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to enumerate valid usernames, perform unrestricted password-guessing attacks, and potentially exhaust application worker resources.
For local authentication, the login implementation previously checked whether a submitted username existed before invoking the password hash verification function. Requests containing a nonexistent username therefore returned significantly faster than requests for valid accounts, for which the computationally expensive password verification routine was executed. A remote attacker could measure these response-time differences to determine which usernames correspond to valid RansomLook accounts.
In addition, the /login endpoint did not restrict the number or frequency of failed authentication attempts. An attacker could consequently perform password brute-force, dictionary, password-spraying, or credential-stuffing attacks against known accounts without server-side throttling. For valid usernames, each authentication attempt also invokes the password key-derivation function, which consumes a significant amount of CPU time. A sufficiently high rate of login attempts could therefore occupy the application's synchronous Gunicorn workers and cause a denial of service affecting the entire application.
The issue has been addressed by always performing password verification using a randomly generated dummy password hash when the supplied username does not exist, eliminating the username-dependent timing discrepancy. Failed authentication attempts are additionally rate-limited per client IP address using Valkey/Redis, with five failed attempts within five minutes resulting in a one-hour block. The reverse-proxy configuration was also updated so that the application derives the client address from a trusted X-Forwarded-For value that cannot be overridden by a client-supplied header.

CWE-307 30/06/2026
Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts in KTM System e-BOK
KTM System e-BOK does not implement any limit or timeout on consecutive login attempts, allowing an attacker to perform unlimited authentication requests. This lack of rate‑limiting enables efficient brute‑force attacks against user accounts. When combined with vulnerability CVE-2026-35097, where passwords are restricted to a six‑digit numeric format, this becomes a critical issue, as such passwords can be brute‑forced in a relatively short time.
This issue was fixed in the patch published in June 2026.
