Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition in TeamViewer Windows Installer Rollback Mechanism Leads to Local Privilege Escalation
TeamViewer Full Client and Host prior to version 15.82 on Windows contain a TOCTOU race condition in the installer rollback mechanism. A local low-privileged attacker can replace rollback backup files stored in a user-writable temporary directory before they are restored by an elevated installer, resulting in privilege escalation to NT AUHORITY/SYSTEM. Exploitation requires successful timing of the race condition and a rollback during installation or update.

CWE-367 27/09/2026
Nezha before 2.3.1 Denial of Service via Concurrent Server Delete
Nezha is a server and website monitoring tool. In versions >= 2.2.11 and < 2.3.1, the service sentinel worker (service/singleton/servicesentinel.go) contains an incomplete fix for a previously reported nil dereference denial of service (GHSA-qjpp-gffx-2wm9). The 2026-07-21 fix re-validated the service lifecycle under serviceResponseDataStoreLock but reused an already-captured, now stale reporter pointer and never re-validated the server, and that lock does not guard ServerShared. An authenticated user with the member role who owns an agent can issue a concurrent server delete (POST /api/v1/batch-delete/server) for their own server to win the race window, causing the worker to dereference a missing entry in the server list snapshot. Because the sentinel workers and the gRPC server have no recover()/recovery interceptor, the resulting panic is unrecovered and crashes the entire instance. This is fixed in version 2.3.1.

Froxlor before 2.3.12 Privilege Escalation via SSH Key Sync
Froxlor 2.3.10 and earlier contain a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition in the SSH key synchronization cron (lib/Froxlor/Cron/System/SshKeys.php, SshKeys::generateFiles). The containment/symlink validation performed by FileDir::makeCorrectDir()/makeCorrectFile() is done only at check time; the live filesystem path is re-resolved as root at write time (file_put_contents with FILE_APPEND|LOCK_EX, followed by chmod/chown/chgrp), with a database round-trip and file reads in between, and no path or file-descriptor pinning (no O_NOFOLLOW or openat2(RESOLVE_NO_SYMLINKS)). On installations where the non-default setting system.allow_customer_shell=1 grants customers local shell access, a customer can atomically swap their ~/.ssh directory for a symlink after the check and before the write, causing the root-run cron to append the customer's public key to /root/.ssh/authorized_keys and to chown /root/.ssh to the customer, resulting in full root compromise of the panel host. The cron re-runs on every interval, allowing unlimited attempts. This is a residual race that bypasses the check-time fix introduced for GHSA-mq5v-... . The issue is fixed in Froxlor 2.3.12.

OpenClaw before 2026.7.1 Path Traversal via Filesystem Race
OpenClaw (npm package 'openclaw') before 2026.7.1 is vulnerable to a time-of-check time-of-use race condition in OpenShell local mirror filesystem mutation operations. The remove, mkdir, and rename operations could act on a different filesystem target after OpenClaw completed its sandbox path-safety check, if the path is changed concurrently. An attacker able to win the race can cause a sandboxed operation to delete, create, or rename a host path outside the intended mirror root with the permissions of the OpenClaw process user. This does not require an operator to have granted host filesystem access outside the sandbox. The issue is fixed in 2026.7.1.

MCP Atlassian: Incomplete fix for CVE-2026-27826: DNS rebinding bypasses SSRF validation (validated IP not pinned)
MCP Atlassian is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Atlassian products (Confluence and Jira). Prior to 0.22.0, validate_url_for_ssrf checks a hostname's resolved addresses, but Requests and urllib3 resolve the hostname again when connecting. A caller can use a short-lived DNS answer that is public during validation and private during connection, preserving unauthenticated access to internal or metadata endpoints despite the earlier CVE-2026-27826 remediation. The advisory traces the vulnerable input and processing flow through validate_url_for_ssrf, _check_dns_resolution, socket.getaddrinfo, and _make_ssrf_safe_hook, which identify the affected entry points, controls, and code paths. This issue is fixed in version 0.22.0.

CWE-367 22/09/2026
AT_SECURE programs may load attacker-controlled code via $ORIGIN
A time-of-check to time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition in the dynamic loader (ld.so) of the GNU C Library (glibc) versions 2.14 through 2.44 allows a local attacker to escalate privileges. When expanding $ORIGIN in DT_RPATH for setuid/setgid (AT_SECURE) programs, glibc validates the lexically normalized search path against the trusted directories but then opens the raw, un-normalized path. On systems where the Linux fs.protected_hardlinks sysctl is disabled, a local attacker who hard-links such a program into an attacker-controlled directory and wins a race to replace an intermediate path component with a symbolic link can direct the loader outside the trusted directory, causing it to load an attacker-controlled shared object and execute arbitrary code with the elevated privileges of the program.
Exploitation requires an installed setuid or setgid binary whose DT_RPATH uses $ORIGIN followed by ".." traversal that normalizes into a trusted directory, and the ability to hard-link that binary and win the race by swapping a path component for a symbolic link. Major Linux-based OS distributions ship with fs.protected_hardlinks enabled by default and mitigate the vulnerability.

draw.io: SSRF via DNS rebinding in ProxyServlet bypasses private IP blocklist
draw.io is a configurable diagramming and whiteboarding application. Prior to version 30.2.7, deployments with ENABLE_DRAWIO_PROXY=1 are vulnerable to server-side request forgery because src/main/java/com/mxgraph/online/Utils.java performs the private-address check in Utils.sanitizeUrl() using one DNS resolution, while src/main/java/com/mxgraph/online/ProxyServlet.java later calls URL.openConnection() and performs a second resolution. An attacker-controlled hostname can resolve to a public address during validation and then to a private, link-local, or cloud metadata address when the connection is opened. Successful exploitation can return cloud instance metadata or responses from internal HTTP services through the proxy. This issue is fixed in version 30.2.7.

BleachBit: Exploit File Delete to Escalate Privilege
BleachBit cleans files to free disk space and to maintain privacy. Prior to 6.0.1, privileged Windows cleaning does not lock and validate a target's parent directory before deletion. A local unprivileged user can replace that directory with a Windows junction and use a native symlink to redirect the elevated deletion to an attacker-selected file. The arbitrary privileged file deletion can be combined with Windows Installer behavior to obtain local SYSTEM privileges. This issue is fixed in version 6.0.1.

Magic link single-use tokens replayable via TOCTOU race in AshAuthentication
Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition vulnerability in team-alembic AshAuthentication allows an attacker holding a leaked magic link to replay its single-use token and authenticate as the target subject. A magic link configured with single_use_token?, which is the default, is meant to be redeemable exactly once, but nothing serialises the token's validity check against its consumption, so concurrent redemptions of one token all succeed and each yields a full user token.
Sign-in verifies the JWT with Jwt.verify/4 and revokes it only afterwards: AshAuthentication.Strategy.MagicLink.SignInPreparation revokes in a Query.after_action callback, and AshAuthentication.Strategy.MagicLink.SignInChange in an after_transaction hook that runs once the sign-in has already committed. AshAuthentication.TokenResource.Actions.revoke/3 writes the revocation as an upsert, so a concurrent duplicate revocation silently succeeds instead of conflicting and no request ever loses the race.
This issue affects ash_authentication: from 3.9.0 before 4.15.0 and from 5.0.0-rc.0 before 5.0.0-rc.14.

Docker Sandboxes UDS forwarder can reach arbitrary host Unix sockets through a symlink race
The guest-to-host Unix-domain socket relay in Docker Sandboxes validates that a socket path is inside an authorized workspace, but later reconnects using the pathname. A malicious guest can replace an intermediate directory with a symlink between validation and connection, causing the host to connect to an arbitrary AF_UNIX socket outside the shared workspace. This can expose data or host-side capabilities provided by the targeted socket.

safeurl validated address is not bound to the request, allowing DNS rebinding
Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition in Slab safeurl allows an attacker who controls a hostname's DNS responses to reach internal network destinations that validation rejected.
Validation returns a verdict and not the address it approved, so the HTTP clients the library ships receive the original hostname and resolve it a second time when the request is made. An attacker who controls the authoritative DNS for a name can answer the first lookup with a permitted address and the second with a blocked one, and the request then reaches a destination validation never approved. The same window opens without an attacker whenever a name legitimately resolves to different addresses across lookups, such as short record lifetimes or rotation between several addresses.
This issue affects safeurl: from 0.1.0 onward.

Alta · 7.8
CWE-367 14/09/2026
Apache Storm Worker Launcher: Local Privilege Escalation to Root via Container Command Files Chowned to the Tenant
Description
When launching a Docker or OCI worker, the setuid-root `worker-launcher` first changes ownership of the
entire worker directory to the untrusted topology user, and only afterwards reads and acts on the command
file that the supervisor wrote into that same directory. The file is opened without `O_NOFOLLOW` and without
re-verifying its owner, so between the ownership change and the read the tenant can replace its contents.
For the Docker path the parsed command is executed with real uid 0, and the command sanitiser is not a
privilege boundary: it admits `-v` with an arbitrary source, `--device`, `--cap-add`, `--security-opt`,
`--user` and `--net`, and copies positional arguments through verbatim. A rewritten file therefore yields an
attacker-authored, root-equivalent container invocation with the host filesystem available.
For the OCI path the same rewrite window applies, and mount validation is structural only, with no
source or destination allow-list, so arbitrary host paths can be bind-mounted read-write into the
container. The `username` field of the command file is likewise attacker-settable and is checked only
against non-root and minimum-uid rules, permitting execution as another tenant's uid.
Mitigation
Upgrade to 3.1.0, where the command file is validated before the ownership change and re-verified on open,
and where mount sources and destinations are constrained by configuration.
Users who cannot upgrade immediately should disable Docker and OCI worker isolation, or restrict topology
submission on affected supervisors to trusted principals. Note that the launcher must be rebuilt and
reinstalled after upgrading.

CVE-2026-82429
Alta · 7.8
CWE-367 14/09/2026
Apache Storm Worker Launcher: Local Privilege Escalation to Root via a Time-of-Check Race in the Worker Launcher
Description
The setuid-root `worker-launcher` binary adjusts ownership and permissions of worker directories by walking
the tree with FTS and calling `lchown` and `chmod` on each entry's full pathname while running with an
effective uid of 0. Both syscalls re-resolve the path at the time of the call, after FTS has classified the
entry, and the trees being walked are owned and writable by the untrusted topology user.
A tenant running code on a supervisor node could therefore replace an intermediate directory component with
a symbolic link between classification and the privileged operation, redirecting the root-owned `lchown` or
`chmod` at an arbitrary file on the host. The operation is repeatable at will, since crashing a worker
forces a relaunch and blob updates re-run the walk, so a failed attempt costs the attacker nothing.
This crosses the boundary that `supervisor.run.worker.as.user` and container isolation are intended to
enforce. It is the same defect class as the Hadoop container-executor issues from which this code derives.
Mitigation
Upgrade to 3.1.0, where the privileged walk operates on file descriptors it has already stat'd rather than
on pathnames re-resolved at call time.
Users who cannot upgrade immediately should not run untrusted topology code on supervisors configured with
`supervisor.run.worker.as.user`, since the launcher is the boundary being crossed. Note that the launcher
must be rebuilt and reinstalled after upgrading; replacing the Java artifacts alone is not sufficient.
