CVE-2026-88829
Alta · 7.2
CWE-444 14/10/2026
Busybox: busybox: http request smuggling via pipelined requests in httpd reverse proxy
A flaw was found in BusyBox httpd's reverse proxy feature. When the proxy is configured to forward requests matching a URL prefix to a backend server, only the first HTTP request on a TCP connection has its path rewritten. An attacker can send a pipelined second request that is relayed verbatim to the backend, bypassing the configured path restrictions. This allows accessing arbitrary paths on the backend server that were not intended to be exposed through the proxy.

CWE-444 13/10/2026
Squid Request Smuggling in HTTP Transfer-Encoding
Squid is a caching proxy for the Web. From 3.3.0.1 to before 7.6, due to an improper enforcement of behavioral workflow bug, Squid is vulnerable to a Request Smuggling attack against HTTP/1.1 Transfer-Encoding. HTTP header parsing (`src/HttpHeader.cc`) accepted the bare` Transfer-Encoding:` identity form, which the HTTP specification prohibits because any transfer coding must be wrapped within chunked encoding. This problem allows a trusted client to perform an HTTP Request Smuggling attack when HTTP/1.1 is used, bypassing security mechanisms that may be in place between attacker and Squid. When there is an HTTP cache operating prior to the affected Squid, this Request Smuggling attack also allows the attacker to poison that web cache and store arbitrary malicious content at any URL for delivery to other clients' future requests. This issue is fixed in version 7.6.

CWE-444 08/10/2026
HTTP/1 server connection desynchronization after 2xx CONNECT response in net/http
When an HTTP server handler sends a 2xx response to an HTTP/1 CONNECT request and returns without hijacking the connection, the server improperly continues to read and serve requests from the connection. Since a 2xx response to an HTTP/1 CONNECT converts the connection into a tunnel, the server should not treat the connection as continuing to contain HTTP. The impact of this misbehavior is mostly limited to potential request smuggling, where an intermediate proxy considers the data on the connection to be tunneled and the server considers it to be HTTP.

CWE-444 08/10/2026
HTTP/2 transport accepts malformed framing-related headers in net/http
Historically, we have been rather lax about malformed framing-related headers in our HTTP/2 implementation, as they cannot interfere with HTTP/2 framing. However, this makes it possible for our HTTP/2 implementation to forward responses containing such headers to an HTTP/1 client when acting as a reverse proxy. If the HTTP/1 client also does not behave strictly enough, this can result in response smuggling.
CVE-2026-56866
Alta · 7.5
CWE-444 08/10/2026
HTTP/1 client connection desynchronization after CONNECT rejection in net/http
When http.Transport sends an HTTP/1 CONNECT request with a non-empty Request.Body, it writes the body directly to the connection without framing after the request headers. If the server rejects the CONNECT request with a non-2xx keep-alive response, Transport returns the connection to the idle pool. Because CONNECT requests do not have a request body, the server may interpret the trailing body bytes as a subsequent pipelined HTTP/1.1 request on the connection, leaving the pooled connection desynchronized and causing the next caller that reuses it to read the response to the injected request. In reverse proxies (including httputil.ReverseProxy) that forward CONNECT requests through a shared Transport, this can lead to cross-user response poisoning.

Front-end Desynchronization Vulnerability in Progress® Telerik® Fiddler® Classic
In Progress® Telerik® Fiddler® Classic for Windows, versions prior to v6.0.20262.10021, front-end request desynchronization is possible in the proxy request forwarding component. A request that contains both a Content-Length and a Transfer-Encoding header is forwarded with both headers present, while Fiddler frames the body using Transfer-Encoding only. The remaining bytes on the reused client connection are then parsed as a separate pipelined request, so a local threat actor with low privileges can cause a single malformed request to be split into two requests forwarded to the origin server and receive an additional smuggled response, without requiring a vulnerable server.

HTTP Request Smuggling Vulnerability in Progress® Telerik® Fiddler® Classic
In Progress® Telerik® Fiddler® Classic for Windows, versions prior to v6.0.20262.10021, HTTP request smuggling is possible in the proxy request forwarding component. Requests containing multiple Content-Length headers with conflicting values are forwarded verbatim to the origin server, while Fiddler frames the request body using only the first Content-Length value. A local threat actor with low privileges who is able to send requests through the same Fiddler proxy instance as another user can exploit this desynchronization against a non-RFC-9110-compliant origin server that keeps the connection alive to smuggle an additional request. Because Fiddler returns the server connection to its pipe pool after reading only the first response, the unread smuggled response remains buffered on the socket and is served to the next session that reuses that connection, allowing the attacker to poison responses delivered to other users and to obtain responses intended for them.

CWE-444 30/09/2026
Libsoup: soupserver: http/1 request smuggling via undrained expect: 100-continue body
A flaw was found in SoupServer (libsoup). When an HTTP/1.x client sends a request with Expect: 100-continue and a request body, and SoupServer returns an early final (non-1xx) response before the body is read, the server neither drains the declared body bytes nor closes the connection. On a keep-alive connection, those leftover bytes are interpreted as a subsequent HTTP request. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can place a complete HTTP request in the body and cause SoupServer to process that smuggled request, leading to unintended request handling.

Mint HTTP/1 client applies chunked framing when chunked is not the final transfer coding, enabling response smuggling through intermediaries
Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests ('HTTP Request/Response Smuggling') vulnerability in elixir-mint mint allows a malicious HTTP/1 server to desynchronize an intermediary and the Mint client on a pooled connection, poisoning the responses to subsequent requests that share the connection.
message_body/1 in lib/mint/http1.ex selects chunked framing when chunked is the first coding listed in a response's Transfer-Encoding fields. RFC 9112 section 6.3 applies chunked framing only when chunked is the final coding, and otherwise reads the body until the server closes the connection. For a response such as Transfer-Encoding: chunked, gzip, an intermediary that follows the RFC treats every byte up to the close as the body, while Mint ends the body at the zero-length chunk and parses the remaining bytes as the response to the next request on the connection.
Mint also keeps the connection open after an HTTP/1.0 response, final or 1xx, that carries Transfer-Encoding and Connection: keep-alive. RFC 9112 section 6.1 requires treating the framing of such a message as faulty and closing the connection after it, so bytes after its chunked body are parsed as the response to the next request in the same way.
This issue affects mint: from 0.1.0 before 1.10.2.

http4k before 6.49.0.0 Host Header Routing Bypass via reverseProxy
http4k (Maven package org.http4k:http4k-core) before 6.49.0.0, 5.42.0.0 and 4.51.0.0 uses substring (Contains) matching on the Host header by default in reverseProxy() and reverseProxyRouting() when dispatching to configured virtual hosts. If these functions are deployed as a public-facing inbound HTTP handler with two or more configured virtual hosts, a remote attacker can supply a Host header that merely contains a configured vhost name (for example Host: admin.evil.com for a vhost configured as "admin") and be routed to that vhost, bypassing routing-based authorization. The intended outbound-dispatch and test-time uses, where the Host value is set by the calling application, are not affected.

CWE-444 26/09/2026
Netty 4.2.0 through 4.2.16 Response Desynchronization via HttpServerCodec
Netty's HttpServerCodec (io.netty:netty-codec-http) in versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.16.Final and in versions up to and including 4.1.136.Final pairs each outbound response with an inbound request by calling pollMethod() once per response, including for 1xx informational responses. If a client pipelines an HTTP/1.1 GET carrying an Expect: 100-continue header followed by a HEAD request, the 100 Continue response consumes the queued GET method, so the subsequent 200 OK for the GET is paired with HEAD and its body is dropped, while the following 200 OK for the HEAD request is written with a body. This desynchronizes HTTP parsing on the connection: the GET entity is never delivered and the HEAD response body is interpreted as the GET body, resulting in response splitting and unsafe connection reuse. Fixed in 4.2.17.Final and 4.1.137.Final.

CWE-444 26/09/2026
Netty 4.2.0 through 4.2.17 HTTP/3 Request Routing Bypass
Netty's HTTP/3 codec (io.netty:netty-codec-http3) in versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.17.Final does not enforce the RFC 9114 requirement that the :authority pseudo-header field and a literal host header field, when both present, carry the same value. A remote unauthenticated peer can send a single HEADERS frame containing both fields with differing, attacker-controlled values; the request is accepted and delivered to the application with two conflicting authorities, allowing routing, virtual-host, and access-control decisions to be bypassed when different components in the request path consult different fields. This issue is fixed in 4.2.18.Final.

Envoy: Cross-user response poisoning via a generic (non-WebSocket) HTTP upgrade on Envoy's shared backend pool
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy forwards data for a configured non-WebSocket HTTP upgrade before the upstream accepts the upgrade. An unauthenticated HTTP/2 client can place a complete HTTP/1.1 request in extended CONNECT data; Envoy downgrades the request, writes the data unframed to a keep-alive HTTP/1.1 upstream, and returns the socket to the shared pool while the smuggled response remains queued. A different downstream client can then receive the attacker's response. The relevant scope boundary is that webSocket upgrades, plain CONNECT, disabled backend keep-alive, per-downstream pools, and max_requests_per_connection set to 1 are not affected by the demonstrated path. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1.

Unvalidated chunk-size line tail in Mint HTTP/1 client enables response smuggling against strict intermediaries on pooled connections
Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests ('HTTP Request/Response Smuggling') vulnerability in elixir-mint mint allows a malicious HTTP/1 server to desynchronize a strict intermediary and the Mint client on a pooled connection, enabling response-queue poisoning against subsequent requests that share the connection.
Mint.HTTP1.Parse.chunk_size/1 in lib/mint/http1/parse.ex stops at the first non-hexadecimal byte of a chunked response's chunk-size line and returns the remainder unexamined. Mint.HTTP1.decode_body/5 in lib/mint/http1.ex then discards every byte up to the CRLF with Parse.ignore_until_crlf/1, so the accepted grammar is a run of hex digits followed by arbitrary bytes, where RFC 9112 permits only a ;-introduced chunk extension. Lines such as 5ZZZZZ and 5 9 are accepted as chunk size 5, and 0ZZZZ is accepted as the terminating chunk that ends the message body. An RFC-strict intermediary rejects such a line while Mint accepts it, so the two disagree on chunk boundaries and on where the response ends.
This issue affects mint: from 0.1.0 before 1.10.1.

Io.netty/netty-codec-http: netty: http request smuggling via post-digit whitespace in chunk-size parsing
A flaw was found in Netty's `netty-codec-http` component. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP/1.1 chunk-size token that includes post-digit whitespace. This incorrect parsing of the chunk size can lead to HTTP request smuggling. This allows an attacker to bypass security controls or access unauthorized resources in proxy/backend deployments.
