CVE-2026-68157 Alta · 7.5 CWE-476 10/08/2026
libceph: guard missing CRUSH type name lookup
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: guard missing CRUSH type name lookup Localized read selection can walk a parent bucket whose name exists in the CRUSH map while its type has no matching entry in type_names. get_immediate_parent() then dereferences a NULL type_cn and passes an invalid pointer into strcmp(), causing a null-ptr-deref. Skip such malformed parent buckets unless both the bucket name and type name metadata are present. This keeps malformed hierarchy data from crashing locality lookup and safely falls back to "not local". [ idryomov: add WARN_ON_ONCE ]

net/af_iucv: fix NULL deref in afiucv_hs_callback_syn()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/af_iucv: fix NULL deref in afiucv_hs_callback_syn() afiucv_hs_callback_syn() allocates the child socket with GFP_ATOMIC. If the allocation fails, nsk is NULL. The connection-refused path is entered when the listen state check fails, the accept backlog is full, or nsk is NULL. The code unconditionally calls iucv_sock_kill(nsk) in that path. iucv_sock_kill() does not accept a NULL socket pointer and immediately dereferences sk via sock_flag(sk, SOCK_ZAPPED). When nsk is NULL, calling iucv_sock_kill(nsk) results in a NULL pointer dereference. Only call iucv_sock_kill() when a child socket was successfully allocated.

net: gro: fix double aggregation of flush-marked skbs
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: gro: fix double aggregation of flush-marked skbs Commit 0ab03f353d36 ("net-gro: Fix GRO flush when receiving a GSO packet.") added a flush check to skb_gro_receive(), but skb_gro_receive_list() lacks the same validation. As a result, packets marked with NAPI_GRO_CB(skb)->flush may still be re-aggregated. This allows already-GRO'd packets with existing frag_list to be re-aggregated into a new GRO session, corrupting the frag_list chain structure. When skb_segment() attempts to unpack these malformed packets, it encounters invalid state and triggers a kernel panic. Scenario (Tethering/Device forwarding): 1. Driver: Generated aggregated packet P1 via LRO with frag_list 2. Dev A: Receives aggregated fraglist packet and flush flag set 3. Dev A: Re-enters GRO, skb_gro_receive_list() is called 4. Missing flush check allows re-aggregation despite flush flag 5. Frag_list chain becomes corrupted (loops or dangling refs) 6. Dev B: TX path calls skb_segment(), crashes on corrupted frag_list Root cause in skb_segment(): The check at line ~4891: if (hsize <= 0 && i >= nfrags && skb_headlen(list_skb) && (skb_headlen(list_skb) == len || sg)) { When frag_list is corrupted by double aggregation, when list_skb is a NULL pointer from skb->next, skb_headlen(list_skb) dereference NULL/corrupted pointers occurs. Call Trace: skb_headlen(NULL skb) skb_segment tcp_gso_segment tcp4_gso_segment inet_gso_segment skb_mac_gso_segment __skb_gso_segment skb_gso_segment validate_xmit_skb validate_xmit_skb_list sch_direct_xmit qdisc_restart __qdisc_run qdisc_run net_tx_action Fix: Add NAPI_GRO_CB(skb)->flush validation to the early-return check in skb_gro_receive_list(), matching the defensive programming pattern of skb_gro_receive().

fastschema - Unauthenticated NULL Pointer Dereference DoS in Account Recovery Endpoint
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in fastschema through v0.15.1 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the server process with a single HTTP request. The sendOTPEmail function in pkg/auth/local.go dereferences a pointer obtained from an unchecked error path without validating it is non-nil, causing a fatal panic that terminates the entire server when a recovery request is sent to the /api/auth/local/recover endpoint.

Crypt::OpenSSL::PKCS12 versions before 1.98 for Perl allow a NULL pointer dereference in print_attribute via a zero length BMPSTRING attribute
Crypt::OpenSSL::PKCS12 versions before 1.98 for Perl allow a NULL pointer dereference in print_attribute via a zero length BMPSTRING attribute. print_attribute() sizes the destination buffer for a BMPSTRING attribute from its declared byte length with `Renew(*attribute, length, char)`. A zero length attribute makes that a zero size reallocation, which Perl implements as a free returning NULL, so the buffer pointer becomes NULL, the following `strncpy` copies nothing, and the caller dereferences NULL in the `strlen()` it passes to `newSVpvn()`. A zero length BMPSTRING is even length, so the ASN.1 decoder accepts it and the value reaches this code. The UTF8STRING, OCTET STRING and BIT STRING arms size on `length + 1` or `length * 4 + 1` and are unaffected. Any caller that passes an untrusted PKCS#12 file to info_as_hash() can crash the process. info() prints attribute values directly without sizing a buffer and is unaffected.

Klever-Go: Unauthenticated nil-pointer DoS in P2P transaction validation can halt the chain
Klever-Go is the Go implementation of the Klever blockchain protocol. Versions 1.7.14 through 1.7.17 are vulnerable to a nil-pointer panic triggered by a protobuf Transaction whose embedded RawData sub-message is omitted. This omission causes RawData to decode to nil. Every transaction gossiped on the Klever-Go P2P network is decoded and validated synchronously inside the libp2p pubsub topic-validator callback, where txVersionChecker.CheckTxVersion dereferences tx.RawData.Version with no nil check. Because the libp2p pubsub callback, the underlying go-libp2p-pubsub validation worker, and Klever's own network/p2p layer install no recover(), the panic propagates and crashes the entire node process. The attacker payload is a 3-byte protobuf message; no validator key, stake, funds, or on-chain account is required, and delivery aimed at enough of the BLS validator set can halt block production, resulting in a chain halt. This issue has been fixed in version 1.7.18.

HDF5 H5Pget_fill_value NULL Pointer Dereference via Malformed Fill Value Message
NULL pointer dereference in H5Pget_fill_value in HDF5 before 2.3.0 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a dataset whose version 1 or 2 fill value message has the "defined" flag set together with a negative size field, which is not normalized to the library's "undefined" sentinel and reaches H5T_path_find with a NULL datatype.

Nbit filter NULL/short parameter-array dereference
H5Z__filter_nbit in H5Znbit.c in HDF5 prior to 2.3.0 dereferences cd_values[0] through cd_values[4] without validating that cd_values is non-NULL or that cd_nelmts is at least 5, the fixed size of the filter's header. This allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted HDF5 file that stores the N-Bit filter pipeline message with zero client-data values, opened and read via H5Dread, e.g. by the h5ls or h5repack tools.

OpenSIPS: Denial of service in presence.handle_publish() from unchecked Content-Type state
OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Versions 3.4.0 through 3.6.5 contain a denial of service vulnerability in the presence module. When the presence module's handle_publish() function processes a SIP PUBLISH request with an Event: presence header and a message body while the configuration option enable_sphere_check=1 is set, it invokes the get_content_type() macro without first calling parse_content_type_hdr(), causing it to dereference uninitialized or NULL Content-Type parsing state and crash. If a Content-Type header is present but unparsed, msg->content_type->parsed is NULL and is dereferenced as a content_t pointer; if the request lacks a Content-Type header entirely, msg->content_type itself is NULL, and both cases lead to a crash. A remote attacker can therefore cause a denial of service against an affected instance with a single PUBLISH request over UDP or TCP, using either a valid Content-Type: application/pidf+xml request or one with the header removed, and the vulnerable code path itself does not enforce authentication (though a deployment's routing configuration may require it before this route is reached). The issue has been fixed in version 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1.

TinyWeb 0.0.8 Null Pointer Dereference DoS via Malformed HTTP Request
TinyWeb through 0.0.8 contains a null pointer dereference vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to crash worker processes by sending a malformed HTTP request line with an invalid version string. The HttpParser::execute() function fails to allocate the Url object when version parsing fails, leaving the url pointer NULL, and buildResponse() subsequently dereferences this NULL pointer without checking the valid_requ flag, producing a SIGSEGV that terminates the worker process and, when repeated across all workers, takes the server permanently offline until manually restarted.

GitHub MCP Server: Nil Pointer Dereference DoS in completion/complete Handler
GitHub MCP Server is GitHub's official MCP Server. Prior to 1.1.0, the CompletionsHandler function in pkg/github/server.go accesses params.Ref without first checking whether it is nil, so a completion/complete request with a missing or empty ref field triggers a nil pointer dereference and a Go runtime panic; because the crash occurs before any authentication or token validation, any unauthenticated client able to send JSON-RPC messages can crash the server, resulting in a complete denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.0.

net, bpf: check master for NULL in xdp_master_redirect()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net, bpf: check master for NULL in xdp_master_redirect() xdp_master_redirect() dereferences the result of netdev_master_upper_dev_get_rcu() without a NULL check, but that helper returns NULL when the receiving device has no upper-master adjacency. The reach guard only checks netif_is_bond_slave(). On bond slave release bond_upper_dev_unlink() drops the upper-master adjacency before clearing IFF_SLAVE, so an XDP_TX reaching xdp_master_redirect() in that window still passes netif_is_bond_slave() while master is already NULL, and faults on master->flags at offset 0xb0: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 00000000000000b0 RIP: 0010:xdp_master_redirect (net/core/filter.c:4432) Call Trace: xdp_master_redirect (net/core/filter.c:4432) bpf_prog_run_generic_xdp (include/net/xdp.h:700) do_xdp_generic (net/core/dev.c:5608) __netif_receive_skb_one_core (net/core/dev.c:6204) process_backlog (net/core/dev.c:6319) __napi_poll (net/core/dev.c:7729) net_rx_action (net/core/dev.c:7792) handle_softirqs (kernel/softirq.c:622) __dev_queue_xmit (include/linux/bottom_half.h:33) packet_sendmsg (net/packet/af_packet.c:3082) __sys_sendto (net/socket.c:2252) Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt The missing check dates back to the original code; commit 1921f91298d1 ("net, bpf: fix null-ptr-deref in xdp_master_redirect() for down master") later added the master->flags read where the fault now lands but kept the unconditional deref. tracing: Fix NULL pointer dereference in func_set_flag()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix NULL pointer dereference in func_set_flag() func_set_flag() dereferences tr->current_trace_flags before verifying that the current tracer is actually the function tracer. When the active tracer has been switched away from "function" (e.g., to "wakeup_rt"), tr->current_trace_flags can be NULL, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash. The call chain that triggers this is: trace_options_write() -> __set_tracer_option() -> trace->set_flag() /* func_set_flag */ In func_set_flag(), the first operation is: if (!!set == !!(tr->current_trace_flags->val & bit)) This dereferences tr->current_trace_flags unconditionally. The safety check that guards against a non-function tracer: if (tr->current_trace != &function_trace) return 0; is placed *after* the dereference, which is too late. This was observed with the following crash dump: BUG: unable to handle page fault at 0000000000000000 RIP: func_set_flag+0xd Call Trace: __set_tracer_option+0x27 trace_options_write+0x75 vfs_write+0x12a ksys_write+0x66 do_syscall_64+0x5b RIP: ffffffff914c973d RSP: ff67ec88b01dfdf0 RFLAGS: 00010202 RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: ff3a826e80354580 RCX: 0000000000000001 RDX: 0000000000000001 RSI: 0000000000000000 RDI: ffffffff93918080 The disassembly confirms the fault: func_set_flag+0: mov 0x1f08(%rdi), %rax ; RAX = tr->current_trace_flags = NULL func_set_flag+13: mov (%rax), %eax ; page fault: dereference NULL At the time of the crash: tr->current_trace_flags = 0x0 (NULL) tr->current_trace = wakeup_rt_tracer (not function_trace) The scenario is that a process opens a function tracer option file (such as "func_stack_trace"), then the current tracer is switched to another tracer (e.g., "wakeup_rt"), which sets current_trace_flags to NULL. When the process subsequently writes to the option file, func_set_flag() is invoked and crashes on the NULL dereference. Fix this by moving the current_trace check before the current_trace_flags dereference, so that func_set_flag() returns early when the function tracer is not active.

HID: logitech-dj: Fix maxfield check in DJ short report validation
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: logitech-dj: Fix maxfield check in DJ short report validation Commit b6a57912854e ("HID: logitech-dj: Prevent REPORT_ID_DJ_SHORT related user initiated OOB write") added validation for the DJ short output report, but the error path dereferences rep->field[0] even when rep->maxfield is zero. Commit 8b9a097eb2fc ("HID: logitech-dj: fix wrong detection of bad DJ_SHORT output report") made the check conditional on rep being present, but a crafted descriptor can still create report ID 0x20 with only padding output items. hid-core registers the report, ignores the padding field, and leaves rep->maxfield as zero. In that case the validation enters the rep->maxfield < 1 branch and then dereferences rep->field[0]->report_count while printing the error message, causing a NULL pointer dereference during probe.
