In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: mcp23s08: Initialize mcp->dev and mcp->addr before regmap init Regmap initialization triggers regcache_maple_populate() which attempts SPI read to populate cache. SPI read requires mcp->dev and mcp->addr to be set, without them, NULL pointer dereference occurs during probe. Move initialization before mcp23s08_spi_regmap_init() call.

libssh2 - Free of Uninitialized Pointer in publickey List Cleanup
libssh2 through 1.11.1 grows its publickey list with SSH2_REALLOC but does not zero-initialize new entries before parsing populates them, so a parse failure reaching the cleanup path leaves libssh2_publickey_list_free operating on an uninitialized entry. A malicious SSH server offering the publickey subsystem can use a malformed response to make cleanup free an uninitialized, attacker-influenceable attrs pointer in a connecting libssh2 client.

rseq: Fix using an uninitialized stack variable in rseq_exit_user_update()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rseq: Fix using an uninitialized stack variable in rseq_exit_user_update() There is an bug in which an uninitialized stack variable is used in rseq_exit_user_update() as reported by syzbot: BUG: KMSAN: kernel-infoleak in rseq_set_ids_get_csaddr include/linux/rseq_entry.h:502 [inline] The local variable: struct rseq_ids ids = { .cpu_id = task_cpu(t), .mm_cid = task_mm_cid(t), .node_id = cpu_to_node(ids.cpu_id), }; According to the C standard, the evaluation order of expressions in an initializer list is indeterminately sequenced. The compiler (Clang, in this KMSAN build) evaluates `cpu_to_node(ids.cpu_id)` *before* `ids.cpu_id` is initialized with `task_cpu(t)`. This is fixed by moving the assignment of ids.node_id outside the structure initialization.

netfilter: nft_exthdr: fix register tracking for F_PRESENT flag
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_exthdr: fix register tracking for F_PRESENT flag nft_exthdr_init() passes user-controlled priv->len to nft_parse_register_store(), which marks that many bytes in the register bitmap as initialized. However, when NFT_EXTHDR_F_PRESENT is set, the eval paths write only 1 byte (nft_reg_store8) or 4 bytes (*dest = 0 on TCP/DCCP error path). When len > 4, registers beyond the first are never written, retaining uninitialized stack data from nft_regs. Bail out if userspace requests too much data when F_PRESENT is set.
CVE-2026-53170 Alta · 8.8 CWE-908 25/06/2026
accel/ethosu: reject DMA commands with uninitialized length
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/ethosu: reject DMA commands with uninitialized length cmd_state_init() initializes the command state with memset(0xff), leaving dma->len at U64_MAX to signal missing setup. The only setter is NPU_SET_DMA0_LEN; if userspace omits this command and issues NPU_OP_DMA_START, dma->len remains U64_MAX. In dma_length(), a positive stride added to U64_MAX wraps to a small value. With size0 == 1, check_mul_overflow() does not trigger and dma_length() returns 0 instead of U64_MAX. The caller's U64_MAX check then passes, region_size[] stays 0, and the bounds check in ethosu_job.c is bypassed, allowing hardware to execute DMA with stale physical addresses. Fix by checking for U64_MAX at the start of dma_length() before any arithmetic, consistent with the sentinel value used throughout the driver to detect uninitialized fields.

fuse: limit FUSE_NOTIFY_RETRIEVE to uptodate folios
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: limit FUSE_NOTIFY_RETRIEVE to uptodate folios FUSE_NOTIFY_RETRIEVE must be limited to uptodate folios; !uptodate folios can contain uninitialized data. Since FUSE_NOTIFY_RETRIEVE is intended to only return data that is already in the page cache and not wait for data from the FUSE daemon, treat !uptodate folios as if they weren't present. This only has security impact on systems that don't enable automatic zero-initialization of all page allocations via CONFIG_INIT_ON_ALLOC_DEFAULT_ON or init_on_alloc=1.

drm/xe/display: fix oops in suspend/shutdown without display
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/display: fix oops in suspend/shutdown without display The xe driver keeps track of whether to probe display, and whether display hardware is there, using xe->info.probe_display. It gets set to false if there's no display after intel_display_device_probe(). However, the display may also be disabled via fuses, detected at a later time in intel_display_device_info_runtime_init(). In this case, the xe driver does for_each_intel_crtc() on uninitialized mode config in xe_display_flush_cleanup_work(), leading to a NULL pointer dereference, and generally calls display code with display info cleared. Check for intel_display_device_present() after intel_display_device_info_runtime_init(), and reset xe->info.probe_display as necessary. Also do unset_display_features() for completeness, although display runtime init has already done that. This will need to be unified across all cases later. Move intel_display_device_info_runtime_init() call slightly earlier, similar to i915, to avoid a bunch of unnecessary setup for no display cases. Note #1: The xe driver has no business doing low level display plumbing like for_each_intel_crtc() to begin with. It all needs to happen in display code. Note #2: The actual bug is present already in commit 44e694958b95 ("drm/xe/display: Implement display support"), but the oops was likely introduced later at commit ddf6492e0e50 ("drm/xe/display: Make display suspend/resume work on discrete"). net: hamradio: 6pack: fix uninit-value in sixpack_receive_buf
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hamradio: 6pack: fix uninit-value in sixpack_receive_buf sixpack_receive_buf() does not properly skip bytes with TTY error flags. The while loop iterates through the flags buffer but never advances the data pointer (cp), and passes the original count (including error bytes) to sixpack_decode(). This causes sixpack_decode() to process bytes that should have been skipped due to TTY errors. The TTY layer does not guarantee that cp[i] holds a meaningful value when fp[i] is set, so passing those positions to sixpack_decode() results in KMSAN reporting an uninit-value read. Fix this by processing bytes one at a time, advancing cp on each iteration, and only passing valid (non-error) bytes to sixpack_decode(). This matches the pattern used by slip_receive_buf() and mkiss_receive_buf() for the same purpose.

fs/ntfs3: prevent uninitialized lcn caused by zero len
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/ntfs3: prevent uninitialized lcn caused by zero len syzbot reported a uninit-value in ntfs_iomap_begin [1]. Since runs was not touched yet, run_lookup_entry() immediately fails and returns false, which makes the value of "*len" 0. Simultaneously, the new value and err value are also 0, causing the logic in attr_data_get_block_locked() to jump directly to ok, ultimately resulting in *lcn being triggered before it is set [1]. In ntfs_iomap_begin(), the check for a 0 value in clen is moved forward to before updating lcn to avoid this [1]. [1] BUG: KMSAN: uninit-value in ntfs_iomap_begin+0x8c0/0x1460 fs/ntfs3/inode.c:825 ntfs_iomap_begin+0x8c0/0x1460 fs/ntfs3/inode.c:825 iomap_iter+0x9b7/0x1540 fs/iomap/iter.c:110 Local variable lcn created at: ntfs_iomap_begin+0x15d/0x1460 fs/ntfs3/inode.c:786

netdevsim: zero initialize struct iphdr in dummy sk_buff
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netdevsim: zero initialize struct iphdr in dummy sk_buff Syzbot reports a KMSAN uninit-value originating from nsim_dev_trap_skb_build, with the allocation also being performed in the same function. Fix this by calling skb_put_zero instead of skb_put to guarantee zero initialization of the whole IP header.
