CVE-2026-8170
Alta · 8.7
CWE-59 20/07/2026
ExtremeXOS Privilege Escalation via Symlink Following in File Utilities
The mv, cp, and rm file utilities exposed within the ExtremeXOS (EXOS) shell environment fail to safely canonicalize paths and follow symbolic links outside of the intended privilege boundary. An attacker with low-privilege CLI access can create a symbolic link that references a privileged filesystem location and then invoke the affected utilities to read, modify, or replace security-critical files outside of their authorized scope. Under certain conditions, this may enable escalation to root-level access and persistent modification of the device software stack. Exploitation is possible remotely by an attacker holding a low-privilege account, or locally via the serial console.
Extreme would like to thank Hadrien Barral (Université Gustave Eiffel) and Georges-Axel Jaloyan (French Ministry of the Interior) for responsible disclosure of their findings.
CVE-2026-8169

CWE-338 20/07/2026
ExtremeXOS Debug-Mode Privilege Escalation via Weak PRNG
ExtremeXOS (EXOS) uses a challenge-response mechanism to authorize access to the privileged debug-mode function. The challenge value is generated using an insufficiently random source, which under certain conditions may allow an attacker to predict the expected response and activate debug-mode without authorization. Depending on device configuration and version, this may enable escalation to root-level access and persistent modification of the device software stack. Exploitation requires either a valid low-privilege account on the device (remote scenario) or physical serial console access (local scenario). This vulnerability is distinct from CVE-2017-14329, which addressed a different issue involving Python script privileges.

CWE-362 29/05/2026
ExtremeCloud IQ Cross Tenant Data Exposure via Extreme Platform One Authentication Race Condition
A race condition in the shared Extreme Platform
ONE IAM Gateway API-key authentication path could, under specific
high-concurrency traffic conditions, intermittently allow requests
authenticated with an Extreme Platform ONE /IAM-issued API key to receive
response data for another tenant. The issue was observed through ExtremeCloud
IQ/XIQ API endpoints and validated against both XIQ/XAPI and Extreme Platform ONE
/Common Services API paths. XIQ-native tokens and standard OAuth/Bearer JWT
authentication were not affected.
CVE-2026-0689
Média · 4.9
CWE-522 02/03/2026
XIQ‑SE NAC Admin Credential Exposure via HTTP Response
In ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine (XIQ‑SE) before 26.2.10, a vulnerability in the NAC administration interface allows an authenticated NAC administrator to retrieve masked sensitive parameters from HTTP responses. Although credentials appear redacted in the user interface, the application returns the underlying credential values in the HTTP response, enabling an authorized administrator to recover stored secrets that may exceed their intended access.
We would like to thank the Lockheed Martin Red Team for responsibly reporting this issue and working with us through coordinated disclosure.

CWE-770 06/01/2026
Extreme Networks Aerohive HiveOS <=11.x 11.x Unauthenticated Remote Denial of Service
Aerohive HiveOS contains a denial of service vulnerability in the NetConfig UI that allows unauthenticated attackers to render the web interface unusable. Attackers can send a crafted HTTP request to the action.php5 script with specific parameters to trigger a 5-minute service disruption.
CVE-2025-11192
Alta · 8.6
CWE-287 07/10/2025
Fabric Engine (VOSS) AutoSense Authentication Bypass
A vulnerability in Extreme Networks’ Fabric Engine (VOSS) before 9.3 was discovered. When SD-WAN AutoSense is enabled on a port, it may automatically configure fabric connectivity without validating ISIS authentication settings. The SD-WAN AutoSense implementation may be exploited by malicious actors by allowing unauthorized access to network fabric and configuration data.

CWE-307 01/10/2025
ExtremeGuest Essentials Captive Portal Unauthenticated Brute Force
In ExtremeGuest Essentials before 25.5.0, captive-portal may permit unauthorized access via manual brute-force procedure. Under certain ExtremeGuest Essentials captive-portal SSID configurations, repeated manual login attempts may allow an unauthenticated device to be marked as authenticated and obtain network access. Client360 logs may display the client MAC as the username despite no MAC-authentication being enabled.
