CVE-2026-70386 — OnePlus OxygenOS improper neutralization of special elements vulnerability
Improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command ('OS command injection') and Missing Authorization vulnerability in OnePlus OxygenOS on Android. Any locally installed Android application, with no permissions declared and no user interaction beyond launching it, can execute arbitrary shell commands as uid 0 in the u:r:dumpstate:s0 SELinux domain. Two defects combine: (a) OnePlus's atlasservice binder interface accepts setEvent(String8 name, String8 value) from any caller without authorization, and (b) one event handler (OplusAtlasLogWriter::handleEvent, matching event name atlas_event_multimedia_audio_dumpsys) copies the caller-supplied value into the system property oplus.audio.dumpinfo.type and starts the root init service audiodumpinfo, which passes that property value unsanitized to system(). This issue affects OxygenOS: from 16.1.0 before 16.1.10.500, from 16.0.0 before 16.0.5.1200, and from 15.0.0 before 15.0.0.2000.
Who exploits it and how urgent it is
A 0–100 score combining confirmed exploitation, ransomware and APT use, public exploits, EPSS and severity.
How the score was calculated
- EPSS 1.2% (30-day exploitation probability)+10
- Technical severity (high)+6
The score orders the patch queue; it does not replace your asset context (internet exposure, criticality, compensating controls).
Triage
Is it exploited, how likely is exploitation, what does it touch, and how severe do the sources call it.
Remediation
Fixes and mitigations documented by the sources — linked to the original advisory.
No fix documented by the sources we poll. That does not mean none exists: check the vendor advisory.
First 24 hours
Ordered from the record’s own fields — exposure first, because you cannot patch what you have not found. A rule-generated starting point.
- Identify exposed assets running the affected vendor/product/version combinations (OnePlus OxygenOS).
- No fix documented in the sources: reduce exposure and monitor the vendor advisory.
- Search available logs for exploit probes matching the vulnerability class (injection), errors and authentication anomalies.

Vendor, product and versions as the sources word them.

Detection
Read off the CVSS vector and the weakness class. Starting points, not tested rules.
- Local/physical vector: focus on endpoint telemetry (EDR) from affected hosts.
- Look for parameters with command/query metacharacters and unexpected child processes of the service.

What should defenders know first?
CVE-2026-70386 is "OnePlus OxygenOS improper neutralization of special elements vulnerability", rated High. It affects OxygenOS (OnePlus); versions are in the scope table. It is not in CISA KEV, which does not rule out exploitation. CVSS 8.5 describes technical severity. EPSS 1.22% estimates the probability of exploitation in 30 days; neither replaces your asset context. First verify whether exposed or business-critical assets run the affected versions, apply vendor fixes or mitigations, and preserve logs for review.
