CVE-2017-20230
Critical · 10.0
CWE-121 Apr 21, 2026
Storable versions before 3.05 for Perl has a stack overflow
Storable versions before 3.05 for Perl has a stack overflow.
The retrieve_hook function stored the length of the class name into a signed integer but in read operations treated the length as unsigned. This allowed an attacker to craft data that could trigger the overflow.

CWE-121 Apr 20, 2026
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the VPN Clients on the ADM
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability was found in the VPN Clients on the ADM. The issue stems from the use of unbounded sscanf() and passing user-controlled data directly to printf(). Due to the lack of PIE and Stack Canary protections, an authenticated remote attacker can exploit these to execute arbitrary code as the web server user.
Affected products and versions include: from ADM 4.1.0 through ADM 4.3.3.RR42 as well as from ADM 5.0.0 through ADM 5.1.2.REO1.

editorconfig-core-c has incomplete fix for CVE-2023-0341
editorconfig-core-c is an EditorConfig core library for use by plugins supporting EditorConfig parsing. Versions up to and including 0.12.10 have a stack-based buffer overflow in ec_glob() that allows an attacker to crash any application using libeditorconfig by providing a specially crafted directory structure and .editorconfig file. This is an incomplete fix for CVE-2023-0341. The pcre_str buffer was protected in 0.12.6 but the adjacent l_pattern[8194] stack buffer received no equivalent protection. On Ubuntu 24.04, FORTIFY_SOURCE converts the overflow to SIGABRT (DoS). Version 0.12.11 contains an updated fix.
CVE-2026-40170
High · 7.5
CWE-121 Apr 16, 2026
ngtcp2 has a qlog transport parameter serialization stack buffer overflow
ngtcp2 is a C implementation of the IETF QUIC protocol. In versions prior to 1.22.1, ngtcp2_qlog_parameters_set_transport_params() serializes peer transport parameters into a fixed 1024-byte stack buffer without bounds checking. When qlog is enabled, a remote peer can send sufficiently large transport parameters during the QUIC handshake to cause writes beyond the buffer boundary, resulting in a stack buffer overflow. This affects deployments that enable the qlog callback and process untrusted peer transport parameters. This issue has been fixed in version 1.22.1. If developers are unable to immediately upgrade, they can disable the qlog on client.

Certain HP DeskJet All In One (AIO) Devices – Potential Remote Code Execution & Potential Buffer Overflow
Certain HP DeskJet All in One devices
may be vulnerable to remote code execution caused by a buffer overflow when
specially crafted Web Services for Devices (WSD) scan requests are improperly
validated and handled by the MFP.
WSD
Scan is a Microsoft Windows–based network scanning protocol that allows a PC to
discover scanners (and MFPs) on a network and send scan jobs to them without
requiring vendor specific drivers or utilities.

CWE-121 Apr 14, 2026
Out-of-bounds read/write during remote profiling and asyncio process introspection when connecting to malicious target
The "profiling.sampling" module (Python 3.15+) and "asyncio introspection capabilities" (3.14+, "python -m asyncio ps" and "python -m asyncio pstree") features could be used to read and write addresses in a privileged process if that process connected to a malicious or "infected" Python process via the remote debugging feature. This vulnerability requires persistently and repeatedly connecting to the process to be exploited, even after the connecting process crashes with high likelihood due to ASLR.

ChargePoint Home Flex OCPP getpreq Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
ChargePoint Home Flex OCPP getpreq Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of ChargePoint Home Flex EV chargers. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of OCPP messages. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root. Was ZDI-CAN-26339.

CWE-121 Apr 10, 2026
Stack-Based Buffer Overflow in Notepad++ File Drop Handler leads to DoS
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Notepad++ version 8.9.3 in the file drop handler component. When a user drags and drops a directory path of exactly 259 characters without a trailing backslash, the application appends a backslash and null terminator without proper bounds checking, resulting in a stack buffer overflow and application crash (STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN).

CWE-121 Apr 9, 2026
Stack Buffer Overflow in wolfSSL PKCS7 wc_PKCS7_DecryptOri() via Oversized OID
A stack buffer overflow exists in wolfSSL's PKCS7 implementation in the wc_PKCS7_DecryptOri() function in wolfcrypt/src/pkcs7.c. When processing a CMS EnvelopedData message containing an OtherRecipientInfo (ORI) recipient, the function copies an ASN.1-parsed OID into a fixed 32-byte stack buffer (oriOID[MAX_OID_SZ]) via XMEMCPY without first validating that the parsed OID length does not exceed MAX_OID_SZ. A crafted CMS EnvelopedData message with an ORI recipient containing an OID longer than 32 bytes triggers a stack buffer overflow. Exploitation requires the library to be built with --enable-pkcs7 (disabled by default) and the application to have registered an ORI decrypt callback via wc_PKCS7_SetOriDecryptCb().

osslsigncode has a Stack Buffer Overflow via Unbounded Digest Copy During Signature Verification
osslsigncode is a tool that implements Authenticode signing and timestamping. Prior to 2.12, A stack buffer overflow vulnerability exists in osslsigncode in several signature verification paths. During verification of a PKCS#7 signature, the code copies the digest value from a parsed SpcIndirectDataContent structure into a fixed-size stack buffer (mdbuf[EVP_MAX_MD_SIZE], 64 bytes) without validating that the source length fits within the destination buffer. This pattern is present in the verification handlers for PE, MSI, CAB, and script files. An attacker can craft a malicious signed file with an oversized digest field in SpcIndirectDataContent. When a user verifies such a file with osslsigncode verify, the unbounded memcpy can overflow the stack buffer and corrupt adjacent stack state. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.12.
