LIBPNG is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow in `png_combine_row` triggered via `png_image_finish_read`
LIBPNG is a reference library for use in applications that read, create, and manipulate PNG (Portable Network Graphics) raster image files. From version 1.6.0 to before 1.6.51, there is a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the libpng simplified API function png_image_finish_read when processing 16-bit interlaced PNGs with 8-bit output format. Attacker-crafted interlaced PNG files cause heap writes beyond allocated buffer bounds. This issue has been patched in version 1.6.51.

CVE-2025-63701 Medium · 6.8 CWE-122 Nov 14, 2025
Heap-based Buffer Overflow in Advantech Tp 3250 Firmware
A heap corruption vulnerability exists in the Advantech TP-3250 printer driver's DrvUI_x64_ADVANTECH.dll (v0.3.9200.20789) when DocumentPropertiesW() is called with a valid dmDriverExtra value but an undersized output buffer. The driver incorrectly assumes the output buffer size matches the input buffer size, leading to invalid memory operations and heap corruption. This vulnerability can cause denial of service through application crashes and potentially lead to code execution in user space. Local access is required to exploit this vulnerability.

Heap-based Buffer Overflow in Airpig2011 Iec104
A heap-use-after-free vulnerability exists in airpig2011 IEC104 thru Commit be6d841 (2019-07-08). During multi-threaded client execution, the function Iec10x_Scheduled can access memory that has already been freed, potentially causing program crashes or undefined behavior. This may be exploited to trigger a denial-of-service or memory corruption.

Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt CO File Parsing Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of CO files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-26628.

CVE-2025-62526 High · 7.8 CWE-122 Oct 22, 2025
OpenWrt ubusd vulnerable to heap buffer overflow
OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Prior to version 24.10.4, ubusd contains a heap buffer overflow in the event registration parsing code. This allows an attacker to modify the head and potentially execute arbitrary code in the context of the ubus daemon. The affected code is executed before running the ACL checks, all ubus clients are able to send such messages. In addition to the heap corruption, the crafted subscription also results in a bypass of the listen ACL. This is fixed in OpenWrt 24.10.4. There are no workarounds.

An out-of-bounds write in VirtIO network device emulation in BitVisor from commit 108df6…
An out-of-bounds write in VirtIO network device emulation in BitVisor from commit 108df6 (2020-05-20) to commit 480907 (2025-07-06) allows local attackers to cause a denial of service (host hypervisor crash) via a crafted PCI configuration space access. Given it's a heap overflow in a privileged hypervisor context, exploitation may enable arbitrary code execution or guest-to-host privilege escalation.
