CWE-328 Oct 9, 2026
Apache CXF: Authentication bypass via weak cache keys for validated STS tokens
Apache CXF's STSTokenValidator and Security Token Service (STS) cached validated security tokens under a non-cryptographic 32-bit hash of the token (Java Arrays.hashCode/hashCode()), and treated a cache hit as proof that the presented token had already been validated. An attacker could craft a token (for example a UsernameToken or a self-signed SAML Assertion) whose hash collides with a cached entry. The token would then be accepted without password validation, signature trust verification or a call to the STS. This could let the attacker authenticate as another user and, through STS token validation or renewal, obtain STS-signed tokens for that identity.
Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue.

Angular: Weak 32-Bit Cache Key Hashing in `HttpTransferCache` Leading to Cross-Request Data Leakage and State Poisoning
Angular is a development platform for building mobile and desktop web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and other languages. Prior to 22.0.1, 21.2.17, and 20.3.25, Angular's HttpTransferCache caches HTTP requests made during Server-Side Rendering (SSR) so that they can be reused during client-side hydration. This avoids repeating the same HTTP requests on the client. The cached responses are stored in TransferState using a cache key generated by hashing request properties (method, response type, mapped URL, serialized body, and sorted query parameters). The cache keys are generated using a weak 32-bit DJB2-like polynomial rolling hash. The 32-bit hash space is extremely small, allowing attackers to find hash collisions. An attacker can easily find a query parameter string (e.g., q=aaCAZMMM for a search request) that produces the exact same 32-bit hash as a sensitive endpoint (e.g., /api/user/profile). When a victim visits a crafted link containing the colliding parameter, the SSR process executes both the search request and the profile request. Due to the hash collision, the search response overwrites the profile response in the TransferState cache. This vulnerability is fixed in 22.0.1, 21.2.17, and 20.3.25.

Next.js: Cache poisoning via collisions in React Server Component cache-busting
Next.js is a React framework for building full-stack web applications. From 13.4.6 to before 15.5.16 and 16.2.5, React Server Component responses can be vulnerable to cache poisoning in deployments that rely on shared caches with insufficient response partitioning. In affected conditions, collisions in the _rsc cache-busting value can allow an attacker to poison cache entries so users receive the wrong response variant for a given URL. This vulnerability is fixed in 15.5.16 and 16.2.5.

Systempay 1.0 e-commerce: brute force of production secret key used for payment signatures (CWE-328)
Ecommerce Systempay 1.0 contains a weak cryptographic implementation vulnerability that allows attackers to brute force the 16-character production secret key used for payment signature generation. Attackers can extract payment form data and signatures from POST requests to the payment endpoint, then use SHA1 hash comparison to iteratively test key candidates until discovering the correct production key, enabling them to forge valid payment signatures and manipulate transaction amounts.

Sandboxie-Plus EditPassword hash entropy reduced from 160 bits to 80 bits due to incorrect nibble extraction
Sandboxie-Plus is an open source sandbox-based isolation software for Windows. In versions 1.17.2 and earlier, SbieIniServer::HashPassword converts a SHA-1 digest to hexadecimal incorrectly. The high nibble of each byte is shifted right by 8 instead of 4, which always produces zero for an 8-bit value. As a result, the stored EditPassword hash only preserves the low nibble of each digest byte, reducing the effective entropy from 160 bits to 80 bits. This is layered on top of an unsalted SHA-1 scheme. The reduced entropy makes leaked or backed-up password hashes materially easier to brute-force.
This issue has been fixed in version 1.17.3.

jq: Algorithmic complexity DoS via hardcoded MurmurHash3 seed
jq is a command-line JSON processor. Before commit 0c7d133c3c7e37c00b6d46b658a02244fdd3c784, jq used MurmurHash3 with a hardcoded, publicly visible seed (0x432A9843) for all JSON object hash table operations, which allowed an attacker to precompute key collisions offline. By supplying a crafted JSON object (~100 KB) where all keys hashed to the same bucket, hash table lookups degraded from O(1) to O(n), turning any jq expression into an O(n²) operation and causing significant CPU exhaustion. This affected common jq use cases such as CI/CD pipelines, web services, and data processing scripts, and was far more practical to exploit than existing heap overflow issues since it required only a small payload. This issue has been patched in commit 0c7d133c3c7e37c00b6d46b658a02244fdd3c784.

A flaw in V8's string hashing mechanism causes integer-like strings to be hashed to…
A flaw in V8's string hashing mechanism causes integer-like strings to be hashed to their numeric value, making hash collisions trivially predictable. By crafting a request that causes many such collisions in V8's internal string table, an attacker can significantly degrade performance of the Node.js process.
The most common trigger is any endpoint that calls `JSON.parse()` on attacker-controlled input, as JSON parsing automatically internalizes short strings into the affected hash table.
This vulnerability affects **20.x, 22.x, 24.x, and 25.x**.

Poseidon V1 variable-length input collision via implicit zero-padding
soroban-poseidon provides Poseidon and Poseidon2 cryptographic hash functions for Soroban smart contracts. Poseidon V1 (PoseidonSponge) accepts variable-length inputs without injective padding. When a caller provides fewer inputs than the sponge rate (inputs.len() < T - 1), unused rate positions are implicitly zero-filled. This allows trivial hash collisions: for any input vector [m1, ..., mk] hashed with a sponge of rate > k, hash([m1, ..., mk]) equals hash([m1, ..., mk, 0]) because both produce identical pre-permutation states. This affects any use of PoseidonSponge or poseidon_hash where the number of inputs is less than T - 1 (e.g., hashing 1 input with T=3). Poseidon2 (Poseidon2Sponge) is not affected.

SODOLA SL902-SWTGW124AS <= 200.1.20 MD5 Session Token Generation
SODOLA SL902-SWTGW124AS firmware versions through 200.1.20 use the cryptographically broken MD5 hash function for session cookie generation, weakening session security. Attackers can exploit predictable session tokens combined with MD5's collision vulnerabilities to forge valid session cookies and gain unauthorized access to the device.
