CWE-401 Sep 29, 2026
Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime in Eclipse Foundation NetX Duo
The NetX Duo MQTT client leaks the packet carrying a malformed PUBLISH message. Each malformed PUBLISH costs one packet, or one chain of packets, from the network driver's receive pool, and nothing returns it. A peer that can deliver a few dozen such messages exhausts the pool and stops all inbound network traffic on the device until it is rebooted.

CWE-401 Sep 29, 2026
Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime in Eclipse Foundation Threadx Netx Duo
An unauthenticated client can drain the RTSP server's packet pool with a couple of dozen requests
that carry a Session header the parser cannot convert.
The Session branch returns the raw NetX error code instead of an RTSP status code:
```c
/* addons/rtsp/nx_rtsp_server.c:2754 */
status = _nx_utility_string_to_uint(field_value_ptr, field_value_length, &session_id);
if (status)
{
return(status); /* NX_INVALID_PARAMETERS / NX_SIZE_ERROR / NX_OVERFLOW */
}
```
Every other branch of the same function maps its failure to an RTSP status first. The CSeq branch
eighteen lines earlier does exactly that (line 2736 returns NX_RTSP_STATUS_CODE_BAD_REQUEST). The
raw code then reaches `_nx_rtsp_server_error_response_send` (nx_rtsp_server.c:1234), which does not
recognise it, takes a path that returns without releasing the response packet it already allocated,
and the block never goes back to the pool.
Six requests with an empty Session header against a 22 packet pool:
```
valid requests: after request 6: pool available = 21, AFTER = 22 / 22
malformed requests: after request 6: pool available = 16, AFTER = 17 / 22
```
One block per request, not returned when the client disconnects. Twenty six requests take the pool
to zero and the server starts failing allocations, after which it serves nobody. If the pool is
shared with the rest of the application, as it is in the shipped sample, the rest of the stack
stops with it.
Convert the `_nx_utility_string_to_uint` failure in the Session branch into
NX_RTSP_STATUS_CODE_BAD_REQUEST the way the CSeq branch does, and release the response packet on
every exit path of `_nx_rtsp_server_error_response_send`.

staging: rtl8723bs: fix xmit_frame/xmit_buf leaks on mgnt-frame error paths
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
staging: rtl8723bs: fix xmit_frame/xmit_buf leaks on mgnt-frame error paths
issue_beacon(), issue_probersp() and issue_asocrsp() obtain a management
xmit_frame together with its xmit_buf from the driver's fixed-size
management-TX pools via alloc_mgtxmitframe(). On the normal path the frame
is handed to dump_mgntframe(), which transfers ownership and eventually
returns both objects to their pools (the frame and, for beacons, the buf
in rtl8723bs_mgnt_xmit(); other bufs via the pending-xmitbuf/TX-completion
path).
Several error/edge paths return early after a successful
alloc_mgtxmitframe() but before dump_mgntframe(), so ownership is never
transferred and neither object is freed:
- issue_beacon(): beacon larger than 512 bytes
- issue_probersp(): cur_network->ie_length > MAX_IE_SZ
- issue_probersp(): kzalloc() of the SSID scratch buffer fails
- issue_asocrsp(): pkt_type is neither ASSOCRSP nor REASSOCRSP
Because alloc_mgtxmitframe() removes the frame and buf from their free
lists (list_del_init) without placing them on any pending list, an
orphaned pair is on no list and referenced by nobody, so it is only
reclaimed at driver teardown. Repeated hits progressively exhaust the
management-TX pools until alloc_mgtxmitframe() returns NULL and the
interface can no longer send beacons or probe/assoc responses.
Free the frame and buffer on these paths, matching the existing correct
error handling in issue_assocreq().

nvmet-rdma: fix queue leak when connect backlog is exceeded
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvmet-rdma: fix queue leak when connect backlog is exceeded
When pending disconnecting queues exceed the backlog limit, the
connect path only drops the device reference and leaks the newly
allocated queue and its IB resources.

net: stmmac: fix dma mapping leak in stmmac_tso_xmit()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: stmmac: fix dma mapping leak in stmmac_tso_xmit()
In stmmac_tso_xmit(), if the DMA mapping of an skb fragment fails, the
frame is dropped but the DMA mappings already created for the linear
part and for the fragments mapped before the failure are never
unmapped, leaking DMA mappings.
Fix the leak by walking back over the descriptors used by the frame and
releasing each of them with stmmac_free_tx_buffer(). Moreover, release
the descriptors with stmmac_release_tx_desc() unmapping the DMA buffers.

btrfs: fix the possible bioc_list memory leak during error
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: fix the possible bioc_list memory leak during error
There are two possible ways to leak bioc memory on
btrfs_ordered_extent::bioc_list:
- An error occurred for btrfs_insert_one_raid_extent()
Then the function btrfs_insert_raid_extent() immediately return
without freeing any bioc in the bioc_list.
- An ordered extent hit an IO error
In that case the ordered extent will have BTRFS_ORDERED_IOERR set, and
skip the call on btrfs_insert_raid_extent() completely.
Fix the problem by:
- Introduce a new helper, btrfs_cleanup_ordered_bioc_list()
Which will remove all bioc from the bioc_list, and release the bioc.
- Call the above helper for btrfs_insert_raid_extent()
So that the cleanup helper is always called no matter what.
- Call the above helper for btrfs_finish_one_ordered()
This is called just before the final release on the ordered extent.
This was reported by Sashiko when reviewing another patch.

Mini-XML 4.0.5 contains a memory leak vulnerability in mxml_load_data() during malformed…
Mini-XML 4.0.5 contains a memory leak vulnerability in mxml_load_data() during malformed XML parsing. Specially crafted XML input can cause text nodes allocated by mxmlNewText() to become unlinked before a parse error transfers control to the cleanup path. These orphaned nodes are not released, resulting in a persistent memory leak on each parsing attempt. Repeated attacker-controlled requests can cause cumulative memory exhaustion and denial of service.

Net::IDN::Punycode versions from 2.302 before 2.590 for Perl leak the output buffer on every rejected label in decode_punycode
Net::IDN::Punycode versions from 2.302 before 2.590 for Perl leak the output buffer on every rejected label in decode_punycode.
The XS backend allocates the scalar it returns before it validates the input, sizing the buffer at twice the input length. The scalar is released only on the success path, so each of the three croaks that reject a label leaves the scalar and its buffer allocated. Nothing bounds the label length in the to-Unicode direction, since the 63-byte DNS limit is checked only when converting to ASCII.
Only the XS backend is affected.
A sender who supplies invalid labels grows the process by twice the label length per rejected call, with no successful call needed.

vLLM through 0.29.0 GPU KV Cache Leak via Mooncake Transfer ID Collision
vLLM Mooncake connector through 0.29.0 fails to properly manage GPU KV cache block ownership when concurrent child requests share a single transfer ID in prefill/decode disaggregated deployments. Attackers can trigger GPU memory exhaustion by submitting completion requests with multiple prompts, causing orphaned KV cache blocks to accumulate until process restart and eventually preventing legitimate requests from executing.

Envoy: HTTP/2 Discarded Host Header 200 GB Header-Copy OOM in Envoy
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy copies every decoded HTTP/2 Host header value before discarding it when :authority is already present. The discarded value bypasses saveHeader, so its bytes and count are not charged against request header limits. An unauthenticated client can use HPACK indexing to submit many references to a large Host value across a bounded number of streams, forcing extreme header-copy allocation and causing the proxy to be out-of-memory killed. The relevant scope boundary is that the demonstrated amplification uses HTTP/2 HPACK and the duplicate Host discard behavior. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1.

Suricata app-layer: passed flows can retain transactions, causing resource exhaustion
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. From 8.0.0 until 8.0.6, AppLayerParserSetTransactionInspectId() in src/app-layer-parser.c uses an inverted guard and marks only already-inspected transactions as inspected. On flows passed by a pass rule or pass-the-flow exception policy, detection is skipped, so completed transactions remain unmarked, are never freed, and are repeatedly rescanned. The per-flow list can grow without bound with quadratic cleanup cost, causing CPU and memory exhaustion. This issue is fixed in version 8.0.6.

Apache Karaf: Improper release of ClassLoader references via static ThreadLocal caching
Apache Karaf's XmlUtils cached XML parser/transformer factories in static ThreadLocal fields on long-lived container threads. Because a ThreadLocal value outlives the OSGi bundle that created it, repeated bundle or feature install, update, or refresh operations can leave successive bundle ClassLoader's pinned in memory and unreachable for garbage collection, leading to unbounded Metaspace growth and eventual denial of service of the Karaf instance.

Cisco Secure Adaptive Security Appliance Software and Secure Firewall Threat Defense Software EIGRP Denial of Service Vulnerability
A vulnerability in the EIGRP implementation in Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause the device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
This vulnerability is due to improper resource management when handling EIGRP update messages. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted EIGRP updates at a high rate to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to trigger a memory leak that will eventually cause the affected device to reload unexpectedly.

Keycloak-services: keycloak-services: saml redirect deflate helpers leak native zlib state
A flaw was found in the SAML Redirect Binding implementation of Keycloak, an open-source identity and access management solution. The issue occurs because the custom DEFLATE compression and decompression helpers fail to release native zlib memory after use. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending repeated malformed SAML requests, leading to native memory exhaustion and a denial of service.

SVCB AliasMode additional-data error leaks qpcache references
A BIND resolver encountering an SVCB/HTTPS AliasMode record referencing 14 or more SVCB/HTTPS ServiceMode records may fail to properly deallocate internal resources. If this happens repeatedly, resource exhaustion will eventually prevent the resolver from performing new recursive lookups.
This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.18.0 through 9.18.50, 9.20.0 through 9.20.27, 9.21.0 through 9.21.25, 9.18.11-S1 through 9.18.50-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.27-S1.

Gss-ntlmssp: gss-ntlmssp: memory leak in ntlm_decode_target_info via duplicated av_pair entries in ntlm challenge
A flaw was found in gss-ntlmssp. A memory leak occurs in the NTLM target-info parser when a crafted NTLM CHALLENGE message contains duplicated string-valued AV_PAIR entries. The parser allocates memory for each string value but does not free the previous allocation when the same AV_PAIR type appears more than once, leaking the earlier allocation. A malicious or man-in-the-middle server can exploit this to cause gradual memory exhaustion on the client during NTLM authentication, leading to a denial of service.
