CI4MS: Unrestricted PHP File Upload via Theme Installation Leads to Authenticated Remote Code Execution
CI4MS is a CodeIgniter 4-based CMS skeleton that delivers a production-ready, modular architecture with RBAC authorization and theme support. From version 0.26.0.0 to before version 0.31.7.0, a theme upload feature allows any authenticated backend user with theme-upload permission to achieve remote code execution (RCE) by uploading a crafted ZIP file. PHP files inside the ZIP are installed into the web-accessible public/ directory with no extension or content filtering, making them directly executable via HTTP. This issue has been patched in version 0.31.7.0.

Vvveb < 1.0.8.2 RCE via Media Upload Handler
Vvveb before version 1.0.8.2 contains an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the media upload handler that allows authenticated users with media-upload permissions to bypass extension restrictions by uploading a .htaccess file to map .phtml extensions to the PHP handler. Attackers can upload a .phtml file containing arbitrary PHP code and execute the uploaded payload through a subsequent unauthenticated HTTP GET request to the uploaded file, resulting in remote code execution with web server privileges.
CVE-2026-6261 High · 8.8 CWE-434 May 5, 2026
Betheme <= 28.4 - Authenticated (Author+) Arbitrary File Upload to Remote Code Execution via Icon Pack Upload
The Betheme theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload in versions up to, and including, 28.4. This is due to the upload_icons() function workflow moving and unzipping user-controlled ZIP files into a public uploads directory without validating extracted file types. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files (including PHP) and achieve remote code execution via the Icons icon-pack upload flow.

Weaver (Fanwei) E-office versions prior to 10.0_20221201 contain an unauthenticated arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the OfficeServer.php endpoint that allows remote attackers to upload malicious files by sending multipart POST requests with arbitrary filenames and disguised content types. Attackers can upload PHP webshells to the Document directory and execute them via HTTP GET requests to achieve remote code execution as the web server user. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2022-10-10 (UTC).
CVE-2026-38991 High · 8.8 CWE-434 Apr 29, 2026
Cockpit 2.13.5 and earlier is affected by a misconfiguration within the Bucket component…
Cockpit 2.13.5 and earlier is affected by a misconfiguration within the Bucket component _isFileTypeAllowed function where a specially crafted filename bypasses an extension filter. This allows an authenticated attacker to rename arbitrary files with the .php file extension enabling arbitrary code to be executed on the underlying server.
CVE-2026-5364 High · 8.1 CWE-434 Apr 24, 2026
Drag and Drop File Upload for Contact Form 7 <= 1.1.3 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload via sanitize_file_name Bypass
The Drag and Drop File Upload for Contact Form 7 plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file upload in versions up to, and including, 1.1.3. This is due to the plugin extracting the file extension before sanitization occurs and allowing the file type parameter to be controlled by the attacker rather than being restricted to administrator-configured values, which when combined with the fact that validation occurs on the unsanitized extension while the file is saved with a sanitized extension, allows special characters like '$' to be stripped during the save process. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary PHP files and potentially achieve remote code execution, however, an .htaccess file and name randomization is in place which restricts real-world exploitability.
CVE-2026-41269 High · 8.8 CWE-434 Apr 23, 2026
Flowise: File Upload Validation Bypass in createAttachment
Flowise is a drag & drop user interface to build a customized large language model flow. Prior to 3.1.0, the Chatflow configuration file upload settings can be modified to allow the application/javascript MIME type. This lets an attacker upload .js files even though the frontend doesn’t normally allow JavaScript uploads. This enables attackers to persistently store malicious Node.js web shells on the server, potentially leading to Remote Code Execution (RCE). This vulnerability is fixed in 3.1.0.

Vvveb CMS RCE via Unrestricted File Rename in Media Manager
Vvveb CMS v1.0.8.2 contains a remote code execution vulnerability in its media management functionality where a missing return statement in the file rename handler allows authenticated attackers to rename files to blocked extensions .php or .htaccess. Attackers can exploit this logic flaw by first uploading a text file and renaming it to .htaccess to inject Apache directives that register PHP-executable MIME types, then uploading another file and renaming it to .php to execute arbitrary operating system commands as the www-data user.
CVE-2026-6249 High · 8.8 CWE-434 Apr 20, 2026
Vvveb CMS 1.0.8.2 Remote Code Execution via Media Upload

Attackers can bypass the extension deny-list and upload malicious files to the publicly accessible media directory, then request the file over HTTP to achieve full server compromise.
CVE-2026-40488 High · 8.8 CWE-434 Apr 20, 2026
OpenMage LTS has Customer File Upload Extension Blocklist Bypass that Leads to Remote Code Execution
Magento Long Term Support (LTS) is an unofficial, community-driven project provides an alternative to the Magento Community Edition e-commerce platform with a high level of backward compatibility. Prior to version 20.17.0, the product custom option file upload in OpenMage LTS uses an incomplete blocklist (`forbidden_extensions = php, exe`) to prevent dangerous file uploads. This blocklist can be trivially bypassed by using alternative PHP-executable extensions such as `.phtml`, `.phar`, `.php3`, `.php4`, `.php5`, `.php7`, and `.pht`. Files are stored in the publicly accessible `media/custom_options/quote/` directory, which lacks server-side execution restrictions for some configurations, enabling Remote Code Execution if this directory is not explicitly denied script execution. Version 20.17.0 patches the issue.
CVE-2026-3219 Medium · 4.6 CWE-434 Apr 20, 2026
pip doesn't reject concatenated ZIP and tar archives
pip handles concatenated tar and ZIP files as ZIP files regardless of filename or whether a file is both a tar and ZIP file. This behavior could result in confusing installation behavior, such as installing "incorrect" files according to the filename of the archive. New behavior only proceeds with installation if the file identifies uniquely as a ZIP or tar archive, not as both.
CVE-2026-6518 High · 8.8 CWE-434 Apr 18, 2026
CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance Plugin by NiteoThemes <= 4.1.16 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Administrator+) Arbitrary File Upload and Remote Code Execution
The CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance Plugin by NiteoThemes plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file upload and remote code execution in all versions up to, and including, 4.1.16 via the `cmp_theme_update_install` AJAX action. This is due to the function only checking for the `publish_pages` capability (available to Editors and above) instead of `manage_options` (Administrators only), combined with a lack of proper validation on the user-supplied file URL and no verification of the downloaded file's content before extraction. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to force the server to download and extract a malicious ZIP file from a remote attacker-controlled URL into a web-accessible directory (`wp-content/plugins/cmp-premium-themes/`), resulting in remote code execution. Due to the lack of a nonce for Editors, they are unable to exploit this vulnerability.
CVE-2026-5718 High · 8.1 Public exploit CWE-434 Apr 17, 2026
Drag and Drop Multiple File Upload for Contact Form 7 <= 1.3.9.7 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload via Non-ASCII Filename Blacklist Bypass
The Drag and Drop Multiple File Upload for Contact Form 7 plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file upload in versions up to, and including, 1.3.9.7. This is due to insufficient file type validation that occurs when custom blacklist types are configured, which replaces the default dangerous extension denylist instead of merging with it, and the wpcf7_antiscript_file_name() sanitization function being bypassed for filenames containing non-ASCII characters. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files, such as PHP files, to the server, which can be leveraged to achieve remote code execution. The vulnerability was originally reported by Leonid Semenenko (lsemenenko) and partially patched in version 1.3.9.7. A bypass for the patch was separately discovered and reported by Nguyen Hung (Mitchell).
