CWE-787 Jun 22, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Bluetooth ISO receive (`bt_iso_recv`) due to missing SDU-header length validation
bt_iso_recv() in subsys/bluetooth/host/iso.c pulled the ISO SDU header (4 bytes) or, when the timestamp flag is set, the timestamped SDU header (8 bytes) from the inbound HCI ISO Data buffer via net_buf_pull_mem() without first checking buf->len. The upstream hci_iso() handler enforces buf->len == the controller-declared ISO Data_Load length, so a malicious or buggy controller / adjacent BLE peer on an established CIS/BIS can present a first-fragment (BT_ISO_START) or single (BT_ISO_SINGLE) PDU shorter than the SDU header. Because net_buf_simple_pull_mem only guards length with __ASSERT_NO_MSG (compiled out when CONFIG_ASSERT is disabled, the production default), the pull underflows buf->len (uint16_t, e.g. 0 - 8 = 0xFFF8) and advances buf->data past valid data: the subsequent reads of hdr->slen and hdr->sn are out-of-bounds reads of adjacent pool memory. For the multi-fragment (START) case the corrupted buffer is retained as iso->rx, and a following CONT/END fragment's net_buf_tailroom() guard underflows to a near-SIZE_MAX value, defeating the bounds check and causing net_buf_add_mem() to memcpy attacker-supplied fragment data far past the RX pool buffer (out-of-bounds write). The flaw affects ISO receive builds (CONFIG_BT_ISO_RX, selected by the default-off LE Audio options BT_ISO_PERIPHERAL/BT_ISO_CENTRAL/BT_ISO_SYNC_RECEIVER) and has existed since the ISO subsystem was introduced (v2.6.0) through v4.4.0. The fix adds explicit buf->len < sizeof(ts_hdr) and buf->len < sizeof(hdr) checks that drop the buffer before pulling.

libde265 has an out-of-bounds write in process_reference_picture_set via predicted short-term RPS
libde265 is an open source implementation of the h.265 video codec. Prior to version 1.0.20, a crafted H.265 bitstream can cause an out-of-bounds array write in `decoder_context::process_reference_picture_set()` (`libde265/decctx.cc:1376`). The root cause is a missing aggregate bound check on predicted short-term reference picture set entries. Individual list sizes are validated, but the combined count after predicted RPS construction can exceed the 16-entry `PocStFoll` array, writing at index 16. Version 1.0.20 patches the issue.

ProxySQL Pre-Authentication Out-of-Bounds Write in MySQL and PostgreSQL Protocol Handling (CVE-2026-48773)
ProxySQL is a proxy for MySQL and its forks, as well as PostgreSQL. Versions 2.0.18 through 3.0.8 have a pre-authentication heap memory corruption vulnerability in the MySQL and PostgreSQL protocol first-read paths. A remote unauthenticated client can declare an oversized first packet length, and ProxySQL passes that attacker-controlled length directly to `recv()` while writing into a fixed 32 KB input queue. Version 3.0.9 patches the issue.

Libaom: libaom: remote code execution via svc layer context handling with attacker-controlled frames
A remote code execution vulnerability was found in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. Insufficient bounds validation in the AV1 encoder's SVC (Scalable Video Coding) layer ID control allows an attacker to supply crafted video frame pixels that overlap with internal encoder layer context structures. In fork-based video processing services, an attacker can use this to hijack the cyclic refresh map pointer, brute-force the process base address via a crash oracle, and redirect control flow to achieve arbitrary command execution. Exploitation requires the target service to use libaom with SVC encoding enabled and accept attacker-supplied video frames.

Libaom: libaom: arbitrary address write via svc layer context oob and cyclic refresh map pointer hijack
An arbitrary address write vulnerability was found in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. A missing bounds check in the SVC (Scalable Video Coding) layer ID control function allows an attacker to inject an arbitrary pointer into the cyclic refresh map field via crafted image pixel values. The encoder then writes approximately 1,200 bytes at the attacker-controlled address. This is fully deterministic and does not require a separate information leak. An attacker who can supply frames to a network-facing libaom encoder with SVC enabled could exploit this for denial of service or potential code execution.

NGINX ngx_http_proxy_v2_module and ngx_http_grpc_module vulnerability
NGINX Plus and NGINX Open Source have a vulnerability in the ngx_http_proxy_v2_module and ngx_http_grpc_module modules. This vulnerability exists when the proxy_http_version to 2 or grpc_pass directives are used to proxy HTTP/2 traffic, the ignore_invalid_headers directive is set to off, and the large_client_header_buffers directive size is larger than 2 megabytes. A remote, unauthenticated attacker, along with conditions beyond their control, could send large headers while creating an upstream request. This may cause a heap-based buffer overflow in the NGINX worker process leading to a restart. Additionally, attackers can execute code on systems with Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) disabled or when the attacker can bypass ASLR.
Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

389-ds-base: 389-ds-base: heap-buffer-overflows in __aclp__normalize_acltxt()
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server in the __aclp__normalize_acltxt() function of aclparse.c. A malformed ACI (Access Control Instruction) string can trigger heap-buffer-overflow writes and reads during ACI parsing. The function fails to validate that the ACI keyword has sufficient length after whitespace stripping, leading to a 1-byte out-of-bounds write and subsequent out-of-bounds reads. An authenticated user with write access to the aci attribute could send a crafted ACI value to silently corrupt heap memory in the directory server process.

Out-of-bounds write in Bluetooth HFP Hands-Free CIND indicator parsing (cind_handle_values)
Zephyr's Bluetooth Classic Hands-Free Profile (HFP) Hands-Free role parser (subsys/bluetooth/host/classic/hfp_hf.c) contains an out-of-bounds write. During Service Level Connection setup the HF sends AT+CIND=? and parses the AG's +CIND: response in cind_handle(), which assigns a per-entry counter index and calls cind_handle_values() for each list element. cind_handle_values() then wrote hf->ind_table[index] = i without verifying that index is within the 20-element int8_t ind_table[] array of struct bt_hfp_hf. Because the parser places no cap on the number of +CIND: list entries, a remote Attendant Gateway (a malicious, compromised, or spoofed peer the device connects to over Bluetooth) can send a response with more than 20 recognized indicator entries and drive index arbitrarily large, writing a small attacker-positioned value past the array into adjacent struct fields (feature masks, SDP/version state, the calls[] array, work/atomic bookkeeping) and potentially beyond the static connection pool slot. This yields memory corruption and at least denial of service of the Bluetooth host, triggered by a single malformed AT response with no user interaction. The sibling consumer ag_indicator_handle_values() already performed the equivalent bounds check; this commit adds the same index >= ARRAY_SIZE(hf->ind_table) guard to close the gap. Affects builds with CONFIG_BT_HFP_HF enabled; introduced with the original HFP HF CIND parser (~v1.7) and present through v4.4.0.

stable-diffusion.cpp: Heap buffer overflow in GLOBAL opcode parsing for PyTorch checkpoint files
stable-diffusion.cpp is a pure C/C++ library for running diffusion model (Stable Diffusion, Flux, Wan, Qwen Image, Z-Image, and more) inference. In versions prior to master-584-0a7ae07, the pickle .ckpt parser in src/model.cpp contained a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the GLOBAL opcode handler. The issue was caused by missing validation when searching for newline-delimited fields. A crafted .ckpt file without the expected newline could cause the parser to use -1 as a copy length, resulting in immediate heap corruption. The attack requires the victim or application to load a .ckpt file from an untrusted source, such as a downloaded model from a model sharing site. The issue has been resolved in version master-584-0a7ae07. If developers are unable to immediately update their applications they can work around this issue by following these instructions: do not load .ckpt checkpoint files from untrusted sources, and prefer trusted model sources and safer formats such as .safetensors where possible.

Heap buffer overflow in spreadsheet tracked-changes import
LibreOffice Calc can import tracked changes from a spreadsheet document. A heap buffer overflow existed when a document reused the same change identifier for two different kinds of change. The importer then treated one change object as a different, larger type and wrote past the end of its allocation. In fixed versions records with a duplicate identifier are rejected.

Heap buffer overflow in OOXML text box element import
LibreOffice can import documents in the OOXML format (DOCX). A heap buffer overflow existed when replaying deferred parser events for a text box element. A handler object was assumed to be of one type and written to at that type's field layout, but it could be a smaller object, so the write landed past the end of the allocation. In fixed versions the type is checked before the write.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: stack buffer overflow in h.265 buffering period sei parser
A stack buffer overflow flaw was found in the GStreamer H.265 codec parser library (gst-plugins-bad). When parsing a buffering period SEI message, the parser uses an incorrect loop bound derived from cpb_cnt_minus1[i] (the loop index) instead of the sub-layer 0 CPB count cpb_cnt_minus1[0] from the referenced Sequence Parameter Set. A crafted H.265 video file or stream can cause the parser to write beyond the bounds of stack-allocated CPB delay arrays, resulting in a crash or potential stack memory corruption.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: out-of-bounds write in h.266/vvc pps picture partition parser
An out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in GStreamer's H.266/VVC PPS picture partition parser in gst-plugins-bad. In the multi-slice-in-tile processing of gst_h266_parser_parse_picture_partition() (gsth266parser.c), the loop iterates without checking that the slice index stays within bounds, writing past three fixed-size arrays (slice_height_in_ctus, slice_top_left_ctu_x, slice_top_left_ctu_y) in the GstH266PPS structure. While the initial proof-of-concept demonstrated a 4-byte out-of-bounds write, the code permits larger writes across multiple iterations. A crafted H.266/VVC media file can trigger this vulnerability.
