CVE-2026-96297 Medium · 6.5 CWE-416 Oct 13, 2026
MongoDB Server may disclose process memory via a crafted `$_internalApplyOplogUpdate` aggregation pipeline
Use of freed memory in the aggregation feature of MongoDB Server can cause the server to read data from a memory area after it has been released. When an internal aggregation stage is combined with a batch size of 0, the server may read from memory that is no longer in use. Because that memory can be reused for other data before it is read, query results returned to the client may contain unrelated data from the server process. Depending on the state of memory at the time, the server process may also terminate unexpectedly. The behavior can occur when an authenticated user with read privileges runs an aggregate command that combines these two settings.
CVE-2026-96299 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Oct 13, 2026
Missing Authorization Check on Internal Aggregation Stage in MongoDB Server mongos Leads to Denial of Service
A security issue was discovered in MongoDB mongos (the sharded cluster router) where an authenticated user with readWrite privileges could crash the mongos process by crafting a specially formed aggregation pipeline. The issue leverages an internal aggregation stage that lacks proper authorization checks despite being intended for internal use, allowing a subsequent stage to be forced to execute on the router under conditions it was not designed to handle. This results in an unhandled fatal error that causes the mongos process to immediately abort, resulting in denial of service for all clients routed through the affected mongos instance.
CVE-2026-104005 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Oct 13, 2026
Incorrect authorization in MongoDB Server router for bulk writes to system namespaces
CVE-2026-104004 Medium · 6.5 CWE-476 Oct 13, 2026
Collection validators using collation-accepting expressions can crash MongoDB Server on insert
MongoDB Server's collection validation feature may not properly handle certain expressions stored in a validator. In some cases, this can cause the server process to stop running when a document is later inserted. The behavior can occur for authenticated users with write access.
CVE-2026-103965 Medium · 5.4 CWE-94 Oct 13, 2026
Fixed values in MongoDB Server $bucket stage may be misread as field references
An issue in MongoDB Server's aggregation framework can cause certain constant values to be handled incorrectly during internal query rewriting. Under certain conditions, an authenticated user with read access may receive field values in aggregation output that the query did not intend to return.
CVE-2026-9753 High · 8.1 CWE-787 Jun 9, 2026
Server crash via malformed binary diff passed to $_internalApplyOplogUpdate.
The $_internalApplyOplogUpdate aggregation pipeline stage can be used to execute a document diff containing a malformed binary diff to return memory out-of-bounds or crash the server. $_internalApplyOplogUpdate can be executed by any authenticated user with access to the aggregate command.
CVE-2026-9752 Medium · 6.5 CWE-476 Jun 9, 2026
GeometryCollection with strict-winding polygon causes server crash during 2dsphere index key generation
An authorized user could trigger a server crash by running a query with a 2dsphere index on a field that stores a GeoJSON GeometryCollection containing a Polygon with a strict-winding CRS. Strict-winding polygons are intentionally unsupported for indexing, but the guard that rejects them does not inspect members of a GeometryCollection, allowing the unsafe path to be reached which ends with an ensuing null-pointer dereference.
CVE-2026-9751 Medium · 5.5 CWE-532 Jun 9, 2026
Sensitive data could be written to mongod.log
The ldapQueryPassword parameter, when set through the runtime setParameter command, will log the new password to the mongod.log file in plain text.
CVE-2026-9750 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Jun 9, 2026
Metadata name collision on $-prefixed fields causes post-auth server crash
An authenticated user can cause a MongoDB server to crash or return incorrect results by creating documents that interfere with internal metadata processing during query execution. This stems from insufficient separation between user-controlled document fields and internal metadata in certain execution paths.
CVE-2026-9749 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Jun 9, 2026
Using MaxKey() may crash the server
This issue can occur when running an aggregation pipeline that uses the internal $exchange stage configured with key-range partitioning and order-preserving delivery. If a single key range produces enough documents to fill its exchange buffer (that is, many results are routed to the same consumer), the server reaches the code path where a full per-consumer buffer is detected but the internal "high watermark" for that key range is not updated as intended.
CVE-2026-9748 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Jun 9, 2026
$_internalConvertBucketIndexStats may crash the mongod server when working on no timeseries input
The $_internalConvertBucketIndexStats stage used PauseExecution as a way to signal "skip this document" when an index stats conversion failed. But PauseExecution is not a general purpose skip mechanism, but rather a TeeBuffer-internal signal used solely by $facet to coordinate its sub-pipelines. When this stage is placed before $facet in a pipeline, TeeBuffer receives the unexpected PauseExecution from upstream and hits a hard invariant assertion, crashing mongod.
CVE-2026-9747 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Jun 9, 2026
Crafted cross-shard merge aggregation crashes MongoDB Server
Adding fromRouter:true and runtimeConstants.userRoles could cause aggregations to crash mongodb server.
CVE-2026-9746 Medium · 6.5 CWE-617 Jun 9, 2026
Server crashes in case of the use of exchange
When using $changestreams and $_requestReshardingResumeToken with the exchange option the server hits an invariant which causes the server to crash. There are no special privileges needed. The user must be logged in to issue the statement.
CVE-2026-9743 Medium · 6.5 CWE-476 Jun 9, 2026
Aggregation sub-pipeline null dereference may allow DoS via crafted getMore
In MongoDB Server 8.0, an aggregation stage can leave its _subPipeline field null during processing of certain pipelines. If a getMore is subsequently issued on the same cursor, the server may dereference this null sub-pipeline when reattaching to the operation context, accessing an invalid address and crashing the process. This issue allows an authenticated user who can run aggregation pipelines to cause a denial of service by issuing a specially crafted aggregation followed by getMore on affected versions.
CVE-2026-9742 Medium · 5.9 CWE-1287 Jun 9, 2026
Authenticate command with specific mechanism parameter can trigger server crash
When OIDC authentication is enabled in configuration, clients may set specific values in the "mechanism" parameter of the "authenticate" command that lead to server crash. The authenticate command is accessible to unauthenticated clients, leading to pre-auth denial-of-service in affected product configurations.
CVE-2026-9741 Medium · 6.5 CWE-319 Jun 9, 2026
Client side encryption fails to encrypt values in a $vectorSearch
A bug in query analysis processing of the $vectorSearch aggregation stage for Queryable Encryption (QE) or Client-Side Field Level Encryption (CSFLE) results in literal values for encrypted fields within the $vectorSearch stage filter expressions to be sent to the server as plaintext instead of ciphertext.
CVE-2026-9740 High · 7.5 CWE-674 Jun 9, 2026
Unbounded recursion in BSONColumn interleaved-reference causes pre-auth stack overflow
A vulnerability in MongoDB Server's BSON validation logic allows an unauthenticated user to crash the mongod process by sending a specially crafted message. The BSON validator's handling of certain nested binary data structures permits uncontrolled mutual recursion between validation functions, where each re-entry resets internal depth tracking.
