CVE-2026-35211

CWE-94 Jul 8, 2026
OpenCTI: Elasticsearch Painless Script Injection via GraphQL `script` filter operator allows authenticated user to exfiltrate data and cause DoS
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to 7.260401.0, the OpenCTI GraphQL API exposes a script filter operator in its FilterOperator enum that allows any authenticated user with the KNOWLEDGE capability to pass user-supplied Elasticsearch Painless script values directly into search queries without validation or sanitization, allowing computationally expensive scripts to consume cluster CPU resources and degrade or deny service for all users. This issue is fixed in version 7.260401.0.

CWE-639 Jul 8, 2026
OpenCTI: Authorization Bypass via `synchronized-upsert` HTTP Header Injection
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to 7.260326.0, an authorization bypass vulnerability in OpenCTI allows any authenticated user with KNOWLEDGE_KNUPDATE permission to bypass Confidence Level validation and Object Marking restrictions by injecting the synchronized-upsert: true HTTP header, enabling attackers to downgrade confidence levels, remove security markings such as TLP:RED, manipulate relationships, and affect STIX object types including Indicators, ThreatActors, Malware, and Reports. This issue is fixed in version 7.260326.0.

Medium · 6.1
CWE-79 Jun 2, 2026
OpenCTI has XSS in the rendering of email-message observable body data
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Versions prior to 7.260227.0 are vulnerable to XSS in the rendering of email-message observable body data. The content of the body field isn't appropriately sanitized when being rendered. Does require user interaction but could be exploited by someone sharing stix or any of the ingester. This could lead to CSRF and then large scale session theft. Version 7.260227.0 contains a fix.

High · 7.2
CWE-284 May 26, 2026
OpenCTI: Privilege escalation via graphQL API abusable by organization admins, due to incorrect ACL on userEdit relationAdd
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to 6.9.7, an organization admin can escalate their privileges by adding a user from a different organization with higher privileges, to their own organization. This is due to incorrect ACL on userEdit relationAdd. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.9.7.
CVE-2026-27960
Critical · 9.8
Public exploit CWE-287 May 5, 2026
OpenCTI privilege escalation and unauthenticated access via default admin account
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. In versions 6.6.0 through 6.9.12, there is a privilege escalation vulnerability that can be exploited by unauthenticated attackers to query the API as any existing user, including the default admin account. This issue has been fixed in version 6.9.13. As a workaround, the default admin can be disabled using the `APP__ADMIN__EXTERNALLY_MANAGED` configuration.

High · 7.2
Public exploit CWE-1336 Apr 9, 2026
OpenCTI affected by RCE via notifier template
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to 6.9.5, the safeEjs.ts file does not properly sanitize EJS templates. Users with the Manage customization capability can run arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the OpenCTI platform process during notifier template execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.9.5.

High · 8.1
CWE-285 Mar 17, 2026
OpenCTI's GraphQL Mutations Allow Deletion of Unrelated Entities
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to version 6.9.1, the GraphQL mutations "IndividualDeletionDeleteMutation" is intended to allow users to delete individual entity objects respectively. However, it was observed that this mutation can be misused to delete unrelated and sensitive objects such as analyses reports etc. This behavior stems from the lack of validation in the API to ensure that the targeted object is contextually related to the mutation being executed. Version 6.9.1 fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-21887
High · 7.7
CWE-918 Mar 12, 2026
OpenCTI has a Semi-Blind SSRF via Unvalidated External URL in Data Ingestion Feature
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to 6.8.16, the OpenCTI platform’s data ingestion feature accepts user-supplied URLs without validation and uses the Axios HTTP client with its default configuration (allowAbsoluteUrls: true). This allows attackers to craft requests to arbitrary endpoints, including internal services, because Axios will accept and process absolute URLs. This results in a semi-blind SSRF, as responses may not be fully visible but can still impact internal systems. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.8.16.
CVE-2025-61782
Medium · 6.1
CWE-601 Jan 7, 2026
Open Redirect in OpenCTI's SAML Authentication Flow
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to version 6.8.3, an open redirect vulnerability exists in the OpenCTI platform's SAML authentication endpoint (/auth/saml/callback). By manipulating the RelayState parameter, an attacker can force the server to issue a 302 redirect to any external URL, enabling phishing, credential theft, and arbitrary site redirection. This issue has been patched in version 6.8.3.
CVE-2025-61781
Critical · 9.1
CWE-863 Jan 5, 2026
GraphQL IDOR allows authenticated user to delete workspace content of other users
OpenCTI is an open source platform for managing cyber threat intelligence knowledge and observables. Prior to version 6.8.1, the GraphQL mutation "WorkspacePopoverDeletionMutation" allows users to delete workspace-related objects such as dashboards and investigation cases. However, the mutation lacks proper authorization checks to verify ownership of the targeted resources.
An attacker can exploit this by supplying an active UUID of another user. Since the API does not validate whether the requester owns the resource, the mutation executes successfully, resulting in unauthorized deletion of the entire workspace. Version 6.8.1 fixes the issue.
