CVE-2026-73220 High · 8.5 CWE-80 Aug 20, 2026
CVAT: Stored XSS via annotation guides in audio tasks
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. From 2.68.0 until 2.70.0, the audio-task annotation guide renderer in cvat-ui/src/audio/components/annotation-page/audio-workspace/top-bar/audio-right-group.tsx passes attacker-controlled guide Markdown to MDEditor without the rehype-sanitize plugin. A user who can create or edit an annotation guide can store malicious JavaScript that executes when another user opens the guide. The script can issue arbitrary CVAT requests with the victim user's privileges. This issue is fixed in version 2.70.0.
CVE-2026-73221 Medium · 5.3 CWE-863 Aug 11, 2026
CVAT: Flawed authorization logic in endpoints related to lambda requests
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. From 2.17.0 until 2.72.0, a user with the Worker role can use predictable task-based request IDs with the lambda request retrieve and destroy endpoints to view automatic annotation requests for tasks or jobs the user cannot access and cancel requests initiated by other users. This issue is fixed in version 2.72.0.
CVE-2026-73219 Medium · 5.3 CWE-1288 Aug 11, 2026
CVAT: Denial of service with regards to automatic annotation
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. From 2.17.0 until 2.72.0, a user with write access to a CVAT job can submit a batch automatic annotation request to RequestViewSet.create with inconsistent task and job IDs, and because the task ID determines the single active request slot, block automatic annotation for another task whose ID is known. This issue is fixed in version 2.72.0.
CVE-2026-65986 High · 8.5 CWE-79 Aug 4, 2026
CVAT has stored XSS via annotation guide assets
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. Versions 2.5.0 through 2.66.0 contain a XSS vulnerability that can be accessed through annotation guide assets. When CVAT serves the files attached to an annotation guide, it labels them with a media type ( Content-Type ) that the attacker can influence, so instead of treating an uploaded file as plain data, the victim's browser can be told to treat it as an HTML page and run any JavaScript inside it. This issue has been fixed in version 2.67.0.
CVE-2026-47682 High · 7.1 CWE-22 Aug 4, 2026
CVAT: Missing path-containment validation in multiple entry points allows arbitrary path writes
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. In versions 1.6.0 through 2.64.0, an attacker with write access to a cloud storage that's been added to a CVAT instance, or ability to add new cloud storages, is able to overwrite arbitrary files on the server's filesystem. This issue has been fixed in version 2.65.0.
CVE-2026-58373 Medium · 4.3 CWE-862 Jun 30, 2026
CVAT < 2.69.0 - Missing Authorization on Quality Reports parent_id Filter Leaks Cross-Organization Report Existence
CVAT before 2.69.0 contains an improper authorization vulnerability in QualityReportViewSet.get_queryset that allows authenticated attackers to enumerate quality report identifiers belonging to other organizations by exploiting a missing check_object_permissions call on the parent_id query parameter of the quality reports API endpoint. Attackers can send requests with sequential integer parent_id values and distinguish between existing and non-existing reports via HTTP 500 versus HTTP 404 response differences, disclosing cross-organization report existence without returning report content.
CVE-2026-44369 High · 8.5 CWE-80 May 13, 2026
CVAT: Stored XSS via annotation guides
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. From 2.5.0 to 2.63.0, an attacker who is able to create or edit an annotation guide on a task is able to add malicious JavaScript code, which will then run in the browser of anyone who opens this annotation guide. This code will be able to make arbitrary requests to CVAT with the victim user's privileges. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.64.0.
CVE-2026-23526 High · 8.8 CWE-267 Jan 21, 2026
CVAT vulnerable to privilege escalation of users with staff status
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. In versions 1.0.0 through 2.54.0, users that have the staff status may freely change their permissions, including giving themselves superuser status and joining the admin group, which gives them full access to the data in the CVAT instance. Version 2.55.0 fixes the issue. As a workaround, review the list of users with staff status and revoke it from any users that are not expected to have superuser privileges.
CVE-2026-23516 Medium · 5.4 CWE-79 Jan 21, 2026
CVAT vulnerable to XSS via skeleton SVG images
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. In versions 2.2.0 through 2.54.0, an attacker is able to execute arbitrary JavaScript in a victim user's CVAT UI session, provided that they are able to create a maliciously crafted label in a CVAT task or project, then get the victim user to either edit that label, or view a shape that refers to that label; and/or get the victim user to upload a maliciously crafted SVG image when configuring a skeleton. This gives the attacker temporary access to all CVAT resources that the victim user can access. Version 2.55.0 fixes the issue.
CVE-2025-68430 Medium · 4.3 CWE-24 Dec 19, 2025
CVAT vulnerable to directory traversal via mounted share listing
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. In versions 2.8.1 through 2.52.0, an attacker with an account on a CVAT instance is able to retrieve the contents of any file system directory accessible to the CVAT server. The exposed information is names of contained files and subdirectories. The contents of files are not accessible. Version 2.53.0 contains a patch. No known workarounds are available.
CVE-2025-64485 Medium · 5.3 CWE-22 Nov 7, 2025
CVAT: Mounted share file overwrite via crafted request
CVAT is an open source interactive video and image annotation tool for computer vision. In versions 2.4.0 through 2.48.1, a malicious CVAT user with at least the User global role may create files in the root of the mounted file share, or overwrite existing files. If no file share is mounted, the user will be able to create files in the share directory of the import worker container, potentially filling up disk space. This issue is fixed in version 2.49.0.
