Weaviate Verba generate_stream Endpoint util.py get_environment information disclosure
A vulnerability has been found in Weaviate Verba up to 2.1.3. Affected by this vulnerability is the function get_environment of the file goldenverba/components/util.py of the component generate_stream Endpoint. The manipulation leads to information disclosure. CWE-918 Jul 21, 2026
Verba (goldenverba) Unauthenticated Server-Side Request Forgery via WebSocket Import Endpoint HTMLReader
Verba RAG application version 2.1.3 contains an unauthenticated server-side request forgery vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to cause the backend to issue arbitrary HTTP GET requests by supplying attacker-controlled URLs through the WebSocket import endpoint. Attackers can connect to the /ws/import_files WebSocket endpoint without authentication, specify arbitrary URLs in the HTMLReader configuration, and cause the server to fetch internal resources such as co-located database endpoints or cloud instance metadata services to retrieve sensitive credentials.

High · 8.6
CWE-918 Jul 21, 2026
Verba (goldenverba) Server-Side Request Forgery via /api/connect and Same-Origin Middleware Bypass
Verba RAG application version 2.1.3 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability combined with a same-origin middleware bypass that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to make the server issue arbitrary HTTP requests by supplying a crafted Origin header and attacker-controlled host and port values. Attackers can bypass the localhost origin check in the API middleware by sending any Origin value prefixed with ' regardless of port, then submit arbitrary host and port parameters to the /api/connect endpoint to cause the server to issue outbound GET requests to attacker-controlled infrastructure.
CVE-2026-59093
High · 8.8
CWE-266 Jul 2, 2026
Weaviate < 1.38.0 - Privilege Escalation via Unchecked Permissions in RBAC Role Assignment
Weaviate before 1.38.0 does not verify that a principal performing an RBAC role assignment holds the permissions granted by the assigned role. The assignRoleToUser and assignRoleToGroup handlers (POST /authz/users/{id}/assign and /authz/groups/{id}/assign) authorize only that the caller may assign roles to the target user or group, not the permissions contained in the assigned roles, unlike role creation which enforces that a user can only create roles with permissions less than or equal to its own. A user holding only the delegated assign_and_revoke_users or assign_and_revoke_groups permission can assign the built-in admin role, or any high-privilege custom role, to itself or others, escalating to full administrative control of the database.
CVE-2025-67819
Medium · 4.9
CWE-22 Dec 12, 2025
Weaviate OSS has path traversal vulnerability via the Shard Movement API
An issue was discovered in Weaviate OSS before 1.33.4. Due to a lack of validation of the fileName field in the transfer logic, an attacker who can call the GetFile method while a shard is in the "Pause file activity" state and the FileReplicationService is reachable can read arbitrary files accessible to the service process.
CVE-2025-67818
High · 7.2
CWE-22 Dec 12, 2025
Weaviate OSS has a Path Traversal Vulnerability via Backup ZipSlip
An issue was discovered in Weaviate OSS before 1.33.4. An attacker with access to insert data into the database can craft an entry name with an absolute path (e.g., /etc/...) or use parent directory traversal (../../..) to escape the restore root when a backup is restored, potentially creating or overwriting files in arbitrary locations within the application's privilege scope.
